I can't figure out how to make openshot use my gpu (GTX 1070). I Set it to Windows D3D11 and exported a video and it still used my CPU instead. Am i missing somthing? or does openshot not have hardware accel?

Basically, the latest version openshot-qt increases file size, which does not have any advantages. I have a lot of 2-hours length mp4 video, which were cut from 2-3 hours plus F1 downloads. The original files are in mkv or mp4 container with approximately 8-12GB size.
Using the old openshot 1.4.3-1.2, I was very happy with the small file size and quality at 720p 25fps using xlib264 and AAC which outputs 1.4GB file. However, the latest version increases the file size to 3GB.
So I uninstalled openshot-qt and installed openshot_1.4.3-1.2_all.deb. It had missing dependencies, but worked perfectly. But Ubuntu 18.04 keeps uninstalling and installing the latest openshot-qt. I used Synaptic Package Manager to mark this as locked but, Ubuntu keeps updating openshot. All I want is to use the old Openshot Video Editor without self auto-updating to the latest version (which does not always work with audio and increases file size).

Channel layouts control how the audio channels are arranged on an exported video project. For example, a STEREO layoutwould indicate 2 channels, that are arranged left and right. A 3.1 Layout would indicate 4 channels: front left, front center, front right, and subwoofer. For reference, here are all available channel layouts:
API endpoint that manages effects. An effect manipulates the image or audio of a frame, and is located on a specific layer, and at aspecific position (in seconds) on the timeline. Most properties on an effect can also be animated, by adjusting thevalues over time, and choosing an interpolation type (linear, bezier, or constant). For details on all available effects, see/info/effects/.
Exports can automatically upload your completed output file to Amazon S3 (which must be configured with config-openshot-cloudcommand first or manually in api/api/settings.py, and requires credentials). The Export data is sent as a POST, including the following"json": " "url": \"my/S3/path/FILE.MP4\", \"bucket\": \"MyS3Bucket\", \"acl\": \"public-read\" ".
I did file a related bug report, Apparently their title editor is very simple and does not work well with third-party SVG

Keyframes allow you to control various aspects of your media. You can make a picture rotate in, do a manual dissolve using the alpha channel, and take greater control over the different effects that are available.
And the best bit about all this? If, as & when you want to upgrade to a newer version - which usually occurs sooner or later! - I, personally, don't need to re-build these any more. All that is necessary is for you, the Puppy user, to visit each app's respective website & download the newest available AppImage. Once you have it, unzip it if required - some zip them, some don't - and re-name the AppImage to match the one you have in the portable, removing the .AppImage suffix in the process. You can do this, because AppImages can be re-named to absolutely anything you like, as long or as short as you want; it's the 'act' of clicking on the outer layer of an AppImage that transfers the executable action to the "AppRun "script within. This is what ultimately sets things in motion.
IF you install this from the PPM - where it's available - it doesn't run properly. I don't know what's different about the way I've done these portable versions, 'cos it's mainly about keeping the config stuff self-contained and re-usable between multiple Pups. Mind you, my Pups are modified SO much, in so many different ways, that it's anybody's guess as to what's actually permitting them to work.
So I was a intrigued by your problem so I downloaded the appimage and the same thing happened to me, then I poked around the openshot website and I downloaded the daily version and that seems to work. OpenShot Video Editor Report a Bug
Not all Manjaro editions have the needed software installed by default, to install software from this application you need to install web-installer-url-handler package, that is available in Manjaro repositories.
You are advised to use the installer only if you are on Stable branch, as it might not work on others.
pamac install web-installer-url-handler
Overlapping clips instantly creates a fade transition which you can then adjust by clicking on it. More transitions are available in the tab under the project files window but can also be opened as a different window. Adding new transitions and effects is achieved through the effects tab. Each effect can be dragged into the timeline wherever you want it.

Same error on a fresh ubuntu 22.04 install. I've tried with version 2.5.1 from ubuntu-jammy-universe and from openshot.developers/ppa. I don't want to install the daily version.
As a workaround, 2.6.1 Appimage version works fine.
Same error here. Ubuntu 22.04, fresh install, openshot 2.6.1 installed with apt (see log below). After installing from ppa:openshot.developers it seems to work (I haven't testing too much, but at least I can see the main window)
As piciomdf ( +source/openshot-qt/+bug/1971094/comments/6) said!
The english page is found at
The "Stable PPA" does NOT contain (at the time of writing) release files in the "jammy" folder, so we need to use the "Daily PPA" but it installed fine and some minor testing of basic usage also went fine.
If it doesn't we can at least help development of this fine project with bug reports!
I removed .cache/openshot and .local/share/openshot, in case the "legacy profile" it was referring to was some user-specific thing and I might have one around from version 2.x, but there was no change.
