Any fan of The Sims knows that 'motherlode' is just one of the epic cheat codes that can be used to grant your sims a whole load of Simoleons because, hey, life can get hard for sims just like in real life.
But aside from the well-known cheat code, there are plenty of ways to give yourself unlimited Simoleons and so much more. But how? Well, luckily we've compiled a succinct breakdown of all of The Sims 4 cheats with a full list of cheat codes for Xbox, PS4, PS5 and PC.
To use Sims 4 cheat codes, you first need to enable cheats in the game itself. Be warned, though: enabling cheats will mean that achievements or trophies are turned off in this particular save.
On Xbox One, Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, you can access the cheat menu by pressing and holding LT + RT + LB + RB for a couple of seconds. This will bring up the cheat menu, in which you need to type testingCheats true to enable cheats in this save.
Or on PC, after activating testingCheats true, hold shift and then click on the Sim/item in question - this will make the Interaction Cheats menu appear, and you can choose from a variety of cheats that it will list for you. The bb.enablefreebuild cheat is perhaps one of the most convenient build cheats for Sims 4. This little cheat will let you go into Buy/Build mode on any locked lot, such as career lots, special venues, and community lots your sim is currently visiting. Perfect if you need to quickly fix something or add a new object to the build without having to go through the rigamarole of exiting and going back into the lot in Build mode, or for replacing special venues like those from Get To Work.

Possibly one of the most used cheats in building. To activate type bb.moveobjects on and retype to turn the cheat off. With this on, you will be able to place items in places that the game would not normally allow. You can place things closer together or even touching. For now, there seems to be no way to turn this cheat off other than exiting the game, so be aware, especially if you are playing a competition game where cheats are not allowed.
Sharing houses and rooms built with cheats
If you share a house or room you have built using some or all of the cheats, there are a few things to consider. Not all things placed with the showhiddenobjects cheat will transfer through the gallery, some are just not designed that way. The invisible lights will only transfer if you save and share an entire lot. If you only share a room, hidden lights will not be included. Objects placed using the moveobjects cheat may transfer correctly, but there is a chance that they will not. Items transferring could also depend on individual games being up to date. In earlier versions of the game, some items did not transfer through the gallery the way they were intended to by the builder.
There are three different modes in The Sims 4: Create-a-Sim mode, Build mode, and Live mode. You can enter Build/Buy cheats in both Live mode or Build mode, but you must be in Build mode to use them. The Build mode cheats include codes for moving objects, expanding the Build/Buy catalog, and more.

To access the cheat dialogue box players will need to hold down all four shoulder buttons for a couple of seconds. Whether on PC or console, this dialogue box can be closed using the same steps to open it.
