Pls consider this interesting event. To explore conference quality papers from work we do in the industry. A teaser event to get an idea on what kind of work would qualify (and surprising how little we know in the industry about the kind of work we do and serious academic interest in the same!). Just 90 minutes. Requesting all architects and senior Principle engineers to join…

    Date: 8th APRIL, 2013.  Time: 3:00 – 5:30 pm

Venue: CA Technologies, Gachibowli, Hyderabad

Objective:

To encourage participation and submission by professionals and researchers in India in ICSE2014, we are organizing a pre-conference workshop titled Software Engineering in Practice on 7th June 2013. The idea of this workshop is to encourage practitioners to write up their research/technical work and submit it to various tracks and workshops in ICSE2014.  An orientation session regarding the same will be held at CA technologies, Gachibowli, Hyderabad on 8th April 2013.

Registrations are open till 7th April 2013: http://www.itsap.org/event_register.php?id=52&id_inner=271

Who should attend the orientation session:  Software Engineering Practitioners, Technical Leads, Principal/Solution Architects, Research Scientists, Doctoral and Masters Research Scholars, and Academicians.

What should you do before attending the orientation session:  Prepare a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation of any unpublished and challenging/innovative technical software engineering related work that you may have done in the past year or two. This includes industrial/research challenges, solutions, breakthroughs, case studies and lessons learned from process as well as product perspective as applied to the industry.

Scope:  Each presentation should provide a clear take-away by describing the software engineering problem it is trying to solve, the methodology employed, innovative nature and some results.  The total time taken for the presentation should not exceed 5 minutes. Author(s) can choose to submit the presentations in:

                * Industry Track

                * Research Track

What will happen during the orientation session: The organizing committee and a panel of experts will assess each presentation. The author(s) will be then assigned to mentors in various parts of India who will help the author(s) in expanding the report and resubmitting for the actual pre-conference workshop to be held on 7th June, 2013 at CA Technologies, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
