There was a shooting very close to my home earlier this month. So all the neighbors are very vigilant and went to the CAPS meetings last night. Here is what we heard from the police at the meeting. We should pay more attention to our surroundings. Police presence is the best deterrent of crimes.

They are asking us to call 911 to ensure that all calls are recorded. You can call U of C as well, but call 911 first.
- If you want a police presence while in the park or hosting an event, we were told to call the 2nd district police department and ask for the CAPS officers. The number is 312-747-5109.
- Police have indicated that they will talk to the residents of the targeted house about the incidents and see if the police can be of assistance in ending these events.
- Police reiterated that they need our assistance in reporting any criminal behavior and providing evidence such as video footage. They stated that we should call for the following things:
- Adults in the playlot not accompanying a child
- any drug activity
- suspicious people hanging around in cars
- loitering
- anything that seems off or makes you uncomfortable
