Opportunity of the Week:
Design and Build Like Frank Lloyd Wright--with Legos!

Explore color, texture, shape, and light through the details of Wright's design on a brief guided tour. Afterward, head into the billiard room to design and build a unique version of the detail for your own LEGO model. Families are invited to continue building during Open Design Studio with LEGO at 11 A.M.

Date: Sat., Nov. 19
Time: Tour - 10:00 A.M., Open Design Studio, 11:00 A.M. 
Location: Frederick C. Robie House, 5757 S. Woodlawn, Chicago, IL 60637
Fee: $25 tour for child/free for chaperone, Free Open Design Studio

Operation Airlift

Adler Planetarium invites youth in grades 6 to 12 to put design, engineering, and circuits skills to work. Teams design, build, and present the best possible remotely-controlled airship. This is a fun, FREE day, to connect with other students, local scientists, and Adler Planetarium staff. (Know a youth needing a team? No problem! Alder puts teams together, too!)

All participants will receive lunch, snacks, and a T-shirt. No prior experience is necessary!

"Prison Folk" Panel Discussion

Panelists, including co-organizer of the Prison and Neighborhood Arts Project Sarah Ross and artists Jonathon Romain and Marvin Tate, will discuss the socio-cultural impact of prison art as well as the lives of artists who have formerly served or are currently serving their sentence.
