Hi All,

Because of this limitations EMC recommending customers to go with big no of hyper sizes (34 gb or 64 gb) where ever possible.

Only alternative is to un map unused devices or move some hosts to new FAs

This is a million dollar question I have. How?....what is the diff b/w dynamic lun addressing and dynamic lun masking..is there a diff at all in d the first place. Also what is "persistent lun masking". Second question, what is lun offset and its importance.... Guys if anyone can throw light on these...I've been tryin to figure these things out...

Hi,

Wrongly understood the question(thought how many devices we can assign
to host), in olden days(when i was team member in backup team)
perticular HBA's can't see more than 255 disks, for that we were
using Dynamic Lun Addressing from 5772(at Masking we can assign lun
address other than mapped address). Before 5772 it was lun offset.

For all your queries more detailed document attached.

Thanks & Regards
