Guys,

Im glad to post the first query in this group... here is the Question.

In DMX we know that every director(FA/DA) has access to memory hence
we name it as global memory and data in Cache is mirrored i.e., the
memory directors in DMX are in mirrored pairs, In what way we can
explain the same in V-MAX? where memory comes with engines..

i.e., 1. How we can show memory is global in V-MAX ?
2. How data is mirrored in V-MAX ?

Regards,

As you are aware in VMAX storage all engines are connected to MIB
enclosure which is considered as Virtual Matrix which allows
communication between all the directors connected to MIBE. Since each
director is having it's own configured memory the total memory is
considered as global memory as any memory block is accesssbile by any
director within the virtual matrix.

VMAX with one engine configuration the memory is mirrored between the
two directors in the same engine.
For multiple engine configuration the memory is mirrored between the
directors of different engines.

For example if you've have 4 engines configured, the memory is
mirrored between 4 directors of 2 engines and in the same way the
other mirror pair will be 4 directors of the remaining 2 engines.

If you've 3 engines the memory will be mirrored across all the
directors of all 3 engines.
