Do the Write Thing: Uniting Against Domestic Violence
Date: Wed. Nov. 2, 2011
Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm
Location: WGR 201B
Come & contribute your voice! Topeka, Kansas's City Council voted to decriminalize domestic Violence in early October. While their decision is under injunction, WOMEN'S RIGHTS (and men's for that matter) are at stake. United Feminists has brought together a coalition of student organizations to table Nov 2 and to and WRITE LETTERS that evening to put the message out that domestic violence is still an issue in the U.S., and that "women's issues" are still relevant and deserve attention. The event will provide letters that students, faculty, and staff can sign and add comments, letting the Topeka City Council and District Attorney know what you think.
If you can table during the day on Wed, please do!
Co-sponsors: United Feminists, Take Back the Night, GU Women of Color, MEChA, GU Pride, Women In Politics, Republican Women, Dems, and Hoyas for Choice
