All my books are on the phone app (the same phone I had with the old number but I changed the SIM in 2019) so I can listen to them on the app there but there are some new books I want to buy so I want to sign up for the premium service and be able to browse books on the web site, apart from anything else I'm no spring chicken and using the little phone screen is difficult for me
I'm not sure what is going on with the audible app. My app had been fine on my old phone and I hadn't let it update in a year or more, but when I started having some other phone related issues, I did an update to the new version. While listening to audio books, sometimes they would stop and it would freeze my whole phone. Wouldn't let me unlock the phone from the unlock screen. I assumed this was because my phone was failing so I bought a new phone a week ago.
Hello. Audible pauses when phone notifications come in then resumes. I would prefer every single text, email, work chat, etc not interrupt my listening experience. Didn't see any settings on this to adjust. Thoughts on how to resolve? Annoying when my work chats or texts flow in and keep pausing it.
I remember seeing a few weeks ago, San Holo explain on snapchat how he made the bass in his track "Still Looking" more audible on laptop speakers. He said he duplicated his bass and saturated it then cut out some low end, so it was louder and grittier and you could still hear the bass even if you weren't listening through a good system. What are your tricks for making bass sound like bass, even if you can't hear the bass?
I had a similar issue today. If I turned the screen off or my device went to sleep (ipad mini), my audible would shutoff too. I resolved the issue by closing all the open apps. For some reason two audible apps were running.
I no longer have my old phone number, nor do I have access to the email I signed up to Audible with. I can't even remember the old phone number, it has been so many years. I have been told I have to have access to one of the other to be able to get into the account. I have dozens of books on there that I no longer have access to. Any advice or help?
Is it possible for my Android phone to sound an alarm when motion is detected by my camera? I checked the Notifications on my phone. In the Wyze App SHOW NOTIFICATIONS is on, APP ICON BADEGES is on, WYZEMESSAGE (sound) is on, GENERAL (SOUND) in on, MEDIA is set to maximum, but I am hearing none of this.
I have a OnePlus 8 Pro and ever since updating it to Android 12, my phone has been running very hot at times, and I'm pretty sure that audible is the reason. I usually have an audiobook playing with a sleep timer and it's either out of battery when I wake up or VERY hot.
You don't get a "doorbell sound" with any Google Nest doorbells on an iPhone. You just get the standard IOS notification sound. That's all we get on our iPhones and there is no option for another sound. Per other posts in this forum, if you nave an Android phone, you can configure a doorbell sound.
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We would recommend you to go to your phone's settings and look for the Nest app or Google Home app. Proceed to the settings of the app and look for sound notification then select your desired tone. Let us know how it goes.
To do this, you will remove the Ring app from your phone, reboot your phone (turn it off/on) and then reinstall the app. Once you reinstall the app, make sure you have all sounds turned up, log into the app, allow notifications, and then test to see if the sound comes up. Hope this helps!
This question relates to the Varia Android app. Is it possible to output all audio warning and notifications through wired or wireless headphones. I suffer from hearing loss and find it difficult to hear the audible warnings from my 830 and mobile phone. Thank you.
Not sure if I understand the question. Are you telling that the headphones connected to the phone do not play the sounds from the Varia app? That would be very surprising - once you cennect the headphones, all sounds from the phone are played on them. Or do you have connected the headphones to the Edge 830 instead, and not to the phone?
Yes, the headphones connected to the phone do not play the sounds from the Varia app. Whatever phone setting I use the initial warning sound always sounds on the phone's speaker and not through the headphones. Strangely, the 'all clear' sound does come through the headphones.
That's what I've been using. Wireless would be the next option I guess. Hope I can get this sorted. At the moment my radar is only as good as a rear view mirror (and a lot more expensive!). Not sure if it's an issue with the app or my Android phone. Thanks for your help.
Frankly told it is the first time I hear that the phone would play sounds to the speaker instead of the headphones, when they are plugged in. I did not think it would be physically possible. Are you sure the jack is really well plugged in, and that other apps play sounds to your headphones? Also check the system settings on your phone, and the permissions of the app, to see whether there are not some options for the audio output.
When I am on a Microsoft Teams call and connect to audio via my phone, I can press *6 to mute / unmute. When I perform that command, I receive an audible message of something along the lines of "You have been muted" or "You have now been unmuted" and the message prevents me from hearing the call audio, so I miss some conversation.
Audiobooks offer accessibility to traditional readers like never before. With the ability to explore thousands of titles from the ease of your phone, Audible is a popular option for audiobook lovers. The platform, owned by Amazon, lets listeners set notifications for new releases, stream from the app, download titles and listen offline.
I wanted to join month by month but instead got charged for the whole year. When I tried to cancel it said I was enrolled until March 2024. All a mistake. I would like a refund.
I phoned once and gave all info and the operator said her computer was needing a reboot and she would call me back. She never did.
I have an Iphone 6 and I have an issue with my main speaker. My problem is that when I talk to someone on the phone,I can hear the the person's voice but they are not able to hear my voice.what Should I do to resolve it?
Is there no sound at all? or can they still faintly hear you (Muffled)?? If no sound at all, verify you are not on mute or change the charging port as it has the microphone built into it and may be faulty. Or if muffled or faint, use a very fine tip object, like toothpick or tweezers to clean out the microphone port. Sometimes they develop debris over time and is clogging it up preventing good audio.
Audible also offers an Audible Premium Plus membership plan, which includes access to the entire Plus Catalog and an additional credit per month. Memberships can be purchased through audible.com or through the Audible app, available on the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices.
You can listen to Audible on any device, including your phone, tablet, Apple or Android device, Kindle, or Alexa-enabled device. If you encounter any problems with the Audible app or website (www.audible.com), the Audible phone number 1-888-283-5051 is a toll-free option for assistance.
Restarting the app or your device is a simple but effective way to fix any app issues. Quit Audible first, then restart your phone. This will wipe out all apps running on your phone and will likely fix your problem.
Maybe there are some corrupt downloaded Audible audiobooks on your device. This may cause Audible stops when phone locks. But don't worry as you can solve the problem by deleting the book and re-download it.
Deleting Audible books from your mobile phone's app will not remove them from your account, meaning you can redownload them at any time. If you want to completely delete a book from your account, you'll need to do it on a computer using a web browser.
If music apps on your phone or tablet are not allowed to run in the background, your audio may stop if the phone or app goes to sleep. Whether you're streaming music from third-party apps like Spotify, using Samsung earbuds, or listening directly to audio files on your phone, you'll need to update your sleeping apps settings to prevent this from happening.
On your phone turn Bluetooth on. Tell Alexa to pair. Scan for new devices. She will tell you the name to look for. Then connect. Now Alexa is a Bluetooth speaker for any app on your phone. I use it for Audible Channels and Overdrive. Hope this helps.
Wow, thank you so much for this information. I often run out of my audible credits and sometime need to wait soooo long for items from my library to become available. Now I have another option and this makes me very happy.
Audible Channels is an in-app feature for your mobile device. You cannot access it from a desktop computer or the Audible website. Try this step-by-step explanation from Audible customer service: _id/8465//how-do-i-listen-to-audible-channels-for-prime-on-my-mobile-device%3F
Two years later, the service released "Audible Air", which allowed users to download audiobooks directly to PDAs and smartphones. Its content would update automatically, downloading chapters as required that would then delete themselves after they had been listened to.[12] In 2006, the company released its A-List collection, which had famous works read by Anne Hathaway and Annette Bening.[8]
Audible audio files are compatible with hundreds of audio players, PDAs, mobile phones and streaming media devices.[47] Devices that do not have AudibleAir capability (allowing users to download content from their library directly into their devices) require a Windows PC or Macintosh to download the files. Additionally, titles can be played on the PC (using iTunes or AudibleManager). Titles cannot be burned to CD with AudibleManager. According to Audible's website, they can be burned to CD using Apple's iTunes and some versions of Nero. (The DRM generally allows a title to be burned to CD once, although the resulting CDs can be played in any CD player and have no copy prevention.)[47] Currently there is no support for Linux, although AudibleManager is known to work through Wine (though this is not officially supported by Audible).[48][49]
