Dear PCS Members,
HXPCS will be open for normal school activities this Sunday, 02Mar2014, at the normal schedule of 1:30pm-5:00pm. Following are some of the highlights for this week (Week 20).

1) Please use the side entrance this Sunday
HSN Spring Musical has a show this Sunday, March 2. In order to help with the traffic flow in the school, we are requested to use Door 4 (a few feet down on the left of the Main Entrance) as our entrance for classes this Sunday.
2) Ms. Rachelle Feldman Hurwitz Visiting PCS this Sunday, 02Mar2014
Ms. Rachelle Feldman Hurwitz, from the Board of Education, WW-P, is visiting PCS this Sunday, 02Mar2014. From 3-4pm in the Upper Dining Hall, she will speak to us about American immigrant experience, and how we can help to build an even better school district. There will be a Q&A session after her speech. You are all encouraged to attend this event and ask questions.
3) Dr. Yibao Xu Memorial Award is Established
At the PCS board meeting on 23Feb2014, the proposal to establish Dr. Yibao Xu Memorial Award was reviewed and approved by the board. The main purposes of this award are to promote student volunteering for community service, to engage more students in volunteering service to PCS, and to promote PCS among the communities.
We would like to express our deepest thanks to Dr. Yibao Xu’s family, Mr. Mason Yu’s family and Hongbin Ni’s family for their large contributions to Dr. Yibao Xu Memorial Award foundation. Their generous donations have provided the financial and moral support needed to move our mission forward. We wish more and more people come to join us to support the award foundation.

5) 李传韵音乐会
由恺悦基金会捐助，巴露华爱乐交响乐团,将于2014年3月22日星期六晚7：30在普大Richardson音乐厅隆重推出一场音乐盛会。这场音乐会将特邀世界著名的27岁小提琴家李传韵联合出演，由音乐总监林巧慈指挥。李传韵曾以精湛的演奏技巧和即兴发挥技能而震惊世界。李先生将与乐团演奏柴可夫斯基小提琴协奏曲及苗岭的早晨等曲目。
李传韵是他那一代中国和国际上具有最重要地位的小提琴家之一。李在北京中央音乐学院师从林耀基教授学习音乐10年，后来在茱莉亚音乐学院以全额奖学金跟随Dorothy DeLay和Itzhak Perlman学习。他赢得过众多奖项，包括11岁时在第五届维尼亚夫斯基国际青年小提琴比赛中通过有20个裁判员一致表决获得的一等奖，并赢得1998年在Aspen举行的小提琴协奏曲比赛。
李传韵经常在亚洲，西欧，北美和澳大利亚巡回演出，作为独奏家与无数指挥如Valery Gergiev, Neemi Jarvi, Edo de Waart, Lan Shui, and Vladimir Ashkenazy等合作。李传韵在陈凯歌的电影"和你在一起"（2002）中表演了小提琴独奏部分，华盛顿邮报评论说＂他空灵般的琴音...给了这部电影一个非凡的听觉效果＂。2004年,作为优秀中国音乐家，李传韵与郎朗，李云迪，王健，和其他几人被香港电台电视纪录系列片＂优秀的中国青年音乐家＂隆重介绍.
