Dear PCS Members,

 

Please see the attached announcement by HXPCS Election Committee regarding the upcoming general members meeting for elections.

 

Here is an excerpt of some essential information from the announcement. Please refer to the attachment for the full text.

 

Date/Time:     Sunday, April 27, 2014, 1:30p.m. - 5:00p.m.

Location:        Lower Cafeteria, WW-P High School North

Purpose:         Annual Election of school Principal / Vice Principal and Board of Trustees.

 

Voting Policies:

 

·         Only the General Members of the HXPCS who have fully paid tuitions and applicable fees are eligible to vote.

·         One vote for each candidate position from each registered family.

·         The eligible voter can obtain a ballot with a valid government issued photo ID from the members of the Election Committee. 

·         If an eligible voter could not cast the vote in person, he or she could vote by an absentee ballot. If an eligible voter needs an absentee ballot, please send an email to pcs.electi...@gmail.com.

·         Because there is only one candidate pair running for the Principal/Vice Principal position, the candidate pair must receive at least one-half (1/2) of valid votes casted at the Election to be elected.

·         Because there are only four (4) candidates running for the four (4) open Board of Trustees positions, each candidate must receive at least one-half (1/2) of valid votes casted at the Election to be elected.

·         Please refer to the Election Guideline at http://www.hxpcs.org/asp/main.asp for more election rules. If there is any inconsistency between this notice and the Election Guideline, the provisions of the Election Guideline shall control.

Election and Voting Procedures:

 

Ø  1:30 pm: Members of the Election Committee arrive at the registration desks.

Ø  1:45 pm: Candidates report to the Election Committee at the registration desks.

Ø  2:00 pm: Election begins. Early ballot drop-off begins.

Ø  2:05 pm: Observe 1 minute’s silence in memory of Dr. Yibao XU.

Ø  2:10 pm – 2:45 pm: Speeches by the Candidates, each has 5 minutes.

Ø  2:45 pm – 3:30 pm: Q&A session for the Candidates: 1 minute for each question, and 2 minutes for the reply.

Ø  3:30 pm – 4:15 pm: Ballot casting continues.

Ø  4:15 pm: Ballot casting ends and the Election Committee start ballot counting.

Ø  5:00 pm: Ballot counting ends. Election ends.
