Dear Neighbors,

On Monday, January 5, Vanderbilt University is proudly hosting the NCAA FCS Championship at FirstBank Stadium. This marks the first time the FCS Championship will be hosted in Nashville. The game will air nationally on ESPN, with No. 2 seed Montana State facing Illinois State.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Below are important details regarding anticipated road closures, parking, and noise on Monday, January 5.

Road Closures/Traffic

The following roads will begin closing at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January. 5 and are expected to reopen three hours after the game ends:

  • Natchez Trace between Children’s Way and Kensington Place will close to vehicle traffic beginning at 1 p.m.
  • Vanderbilt Place between 29th Avenue S. and 28th Avenue S. in the eastbound lane will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m.
  • Kensington Place between 2525 Garage and Natchez Trace will close to vehicle traffic at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Heavy traffic is expected between 3 and 7 p.m. as campus and medical center traffic overlaps with incoming game traffic.

Normal traffic operations will be altered at times for vehicles to move on and off campus as efficiently as possible. All vehicles should follow the direction of uniformed traffic officers.

Parking

For those who need to park on campus, please contact Vanderbilt’s commute-concierge for help planning your commute and email par...@vanderbilt.edu to find alternative parking options. Please adhere to all posted signage, barriers, and staffing directions.

  • The N lots (73, 73A, 74, 75, 75A) on Natchez Trace will be staffed beginning at 5 a.m.; Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Athletics parking staff will manage access.
  • Kensington Garage will be used for game day parking. Monthly permit holders will still be permitted access.
  • 25th Avenue Garage and West Garage will be staffed and accepting payment at approximately 4 p.m. (this time is subject to change). VUMC and VU permit holders will still be permitted access by showing their VUMC or VU ID.
  • Lots 72A, 72B, 72C, and 72E will be reserved all day and require the proper game day permit.
  • Vanderbilt University Medical Center shuttles will service the N Lots from 4 a.m.–4 p.m.

Noise Reminders
Please be aware that amplified music and loud fan energy will contribute to significant noise levels in and around the stadium.

  • Fireworks are shot off pregame, during the National Anthem, and at the end of the game.

See additional details.

We truly value our relationship with our campus neighbors and remain mindful of your well-being as we host this national event. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any concerns or questions.
