as Natchez Trace undergoes paving, we want to pass along some additional construction updates:
Partial road closures are planned along Natchez Trace
and 28th Avenue South:

Natchez Trace Repaving
-
To deliver a completed, smooth roadway, the construction team will mill, patch, repave and stripe the roadway beginning on Thursday,
July 24.

Periodic single-lane closures at the intersections of Natchez Trace and Jess Neely.

Single-lane closures will occur along Natchez Trace between West End and Kensington Avenues. A flagger is onsite to maintain two-way traffic and ensure pedestrian safety.
- Natchez Trace
is expected to reopen to two-way traffic by Friday,
August 1.

The lane closest to the FirstBank Stadium will remain closed until early September to allow for completion of stadium construction work.

28th Avenue South Repaving:
- We have been informed by Nashville Department of Transportation
(NDOT) that they will be
repaving and striping 28th Avenue South between West End Avenue and Natchez Trace.
- Periodic single-lane closures will occur along 28th Avenue South.
- A flagger is onsite to maintain two-way traffic and ensure pedestrian safety.
- 28th Avenue South is expected to fully reopen by Wednesday,
August 20.

Road Closure along 18th Avenue South extended to complete Utility Upgrades to allow for the installation of upgraded sewer and underground utilities:
A full road closure will continue along 18th Avenue South until
October 2025:

Vehicles

18th Avenue South will be fully closed between the Roberts Academy construction site and the Seigenthaler Center until October 2025.

18th Avenue will be open from Thursday,
August 14 to Wednesday, August 20 for student move in.

Traffic guards will be stationed at the single-lane closures near the intersection of Edgehill and 18th avenues to help maintain traffic flow.

Parking lot 78A will partially close from Wednesday,
August 20 until October 2025. Commuters should utilize other nearby annual parking lots.

Commuters are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes. Use 17th Avenue South or 21st Avenue South to access Edgehill Avenue.

Pedestrians

Sidewalks in the area may be closed periodically. Signage will be posted to direct pedestrian traffic.

Extended Electrical Outage and Road Closure to install utilities to support the future Central Neighborhood Residential Colleges:
An extended electrical shutdown will occur on Tuesday,
August 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The utility outage will affect Vanderbilt Greek Life buildings.

In the case of inclement weather, the work will shift to Wednesday, August 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The eastbound lane of Vanderbilt Place between 25th Avenue South and 24th Avenue South will be closed from Sunday, August 3 to Tuesday, August 5.

A flagger will be onsite to maintain two-way traffic.

As a reminder, 24th Avenue is now a two-way street. Vehicles can access it from Vanderbilt Place or Garland Avenue.

Pedestrians

The south sidewalk along Vanderbilt Place between 25th Avenue South and 24th Avenue South will be closed from Sunday, August 3 to Tuesday, August 5.

Pedestrians should use the designated crosswalks at the intersections of Vanderbilt Place and 25th Avenue South and Vanderbilt Place and 24th Avenue South to access the northern sidewalk.
