Neighbors,

Tax assessments will be sent by the Assessor's office this week or next. I don't have any non-public information on where those stand, but I suspect that they will reflect what we have seen in the residential market, which suggests BHN and the rest of Nashville will see significantly increased values on those appraisals.

As a reminder, when trying to understand what the increase in your appraised value means to your pocket book, values are equalized out such that it is the increase of your value relative to the average citywide value that matters, not the raw increase in your value. The Assessor has not yet released this citywide data but I can assure you that Council, the Mayor's office, and the Finance Department are all asking for it multiple times a day.

The equalization process is complicated, and this Thursday, the Assessor is hosting a webinar to go over the new values and process. I am passing along that information in case folks want to join and learn more.
