Greetings, Neighbors,

Here’s the latest “News You Can Re-Use” from Nashville Waste Services, including how to become a water champion through the Citizen’s Water Academy!

Don’t miss the upcoming HWEN FALL PLANT swap on Saturday, September 27, 2-4pm, at 3005 Blakemore, when Nashville Waste Services will teach how to backyard compost and sustainable gardening tips will be offered by Julie Berbiglia of Tennessee Smart Yards.

Community members are also invited by the Metro Beautification and Environment Commission and NDOT to register for a bag of 50 daffodil bulbs to plant in public spaces (like rights-of-way, schools, and churches) after obtaining permission from property owners to plant. Visit

East Convenience Center Temporarily Closed for Major Upgrades

East Convenience Center

East Convenience Center is temporarily closed approximately eight weeks to complete major renovations. Improvements include a new entrance building, enhanced safety railings, and better traffic flow to create a safer, more efficient experience for all visitors.

While the site is closed, residents can visit the Anderson Lane, Omohundro, or Ezell Pike Convenience Centers—open Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

For household hazardous waste, please use Ezell Pike, and for electronics disposal, visit Ezell Pike or Omohundro.

Stay updated on the project by following us on Instagram and Facebook. Thank you for your patience as we improve your East Center experience!

Recycle your Soup Cartons

Fall is right around the corner and that means so is soup season!  When you finish a paper carton of soup or broth, be sure to rinse and recycle it. Caps can be left on or thrown in the trash - those won't get recycled.

Even if the carton has an aluminum lining inside, it’s still recyclable as paper—the aluminum is removed during the recycling process!
