VU Innovation SP- deferral and resources

Neighbors- I appreciate all the engagement on Vanderbilt’s Innovation District proposal. There is a lot to digest and I want to share an important update and links to various sources.

 I wanted to let you know that the SP proposal to be heard at the April 9 Planning Commission meeting will be deferred to April 23 by Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt, Planning, NDOT are still working on conditions for the SP and Planning’s recommendations/conditions haven’t been finalized yet. To be heard by the Commission, these conditions have to be included in the staff report released the Friday before the meeting. I assure you, I have shared the many suggestions from constituents and sought their help in incorporating them into the SP; I want to see substantive changes to the proposal as I know many of you do. 

When it is heard by the Commission, there will be a public hearing for you to share your thoughts, concerns, support. The Planning meeting on April 23 will be held at 4 pm, 700 Ronald Reagan Way (aka Howard Office Building.) Emails to the commissioners should be sent by the morning of April 21. Please CC me.

Also, both HWEN and Vanderbilt have created pages online to provide more information and resources to help. Vanderbilt has created this site with purpose, details, FAQs, etc., to help understand the proposal better. 

Hillsboro West End Neighbors has added a page with a link to the VU site as well as other resources like the traffic study and preliminary SP submission.
