Dear Neighbors,

 

Following the recent winter storm and widespread power outages, Vanderbilt University is opening the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center for community members in need of a safe, warm place to rest and recharge.

 

Community members are welcome to stop by to:

  • Warm up indoors
  • Charge phones and essential devices
  • Enjoy warm drinks and snacks
  • Take showers (bring flip flops and your own towel)
  • Participate in family-friendly activities, including table tennis, story time for children, mindfulness sessions, books, puzzles and more

Operating Hours

  • Thursday, Jan. 29: 6 a.m.–11 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 30: 6 a.m.–10 p.m.

 

Activity Schedule (Thursday)

  • 11am—Noon: Story Hour
    Enjoy story time for children and families.
  • Noon—1 p.m.: A Special Visit
    Mr. C will be stopping by after story time to engage with visitors and families.
  • 1:15 pm: Coping with Stress
    Hear tips for coping with stress and visit with VU therapy dogs.
