I've spent the last hour reading and calling who I could.  The SLA finally responded and told me to call the FDA, which I did immediately, but their office closes at 4pm and it was 4:03.  I guess I didn't navigate the menus fast enough.

Can anybody tell me what the exemption or "if an exemption is not required" regulation is for putting nutrition facts on under-7% cider?  I'm looking at this form: http://www.sla.ny.gov/system/files/NutritionLabelComplianceAffirmation-100211.pdf  and I assume I'm exempt, but my assumptions have all been wrong so far.

Thanks
Tim

Tim,
As I understand (having looked into this for another non-cider project a while ago), there is an exemption from nutrition labeling requirements for small businesses- I think less than $500K sales/ year and fewer than 50 employees, unless it's changed.

You should be able to look up the FDA reg they cite for specifics. Reminds me that I need to do this too.  I'll let you know if I find anything different.

Best,

Dan
