hello Hudson Valley cider makers,

I know you are all busy getting ready for Cider Week (be sure to post your events to the website!), but here is an event opportunity in October. Please contact Iyla if you are interested (ishor...@hvadc.org).

thanks,

Hi Sara,

My name is Iyla and I work with Todd Erling at HVADC. For the past seven years, HVADC has a produced a Chili Contest event through our Hudson Valley Bounty program. This year, we are expanding and re-branding the event as the Chili, Cheese & Cider Fest which will be held on October 10 (Columbus Day Weekend). In addition to the Chili Contest portion of the event, we plan to offer a number of tastings and pairings from local cheese and hard cider producers.

I am hoping that you might be able to introduce me to a few of your farm cidery partners that you feel would be a good match for this event? In addition to being paired with local cheese producers, the cideries will also have the opportunity to sell their product.

Further details:

Another exciting development this year—we will be partnering with Columbia County Council on the Arts (CCCA) for their annual Arts Walk event. CCCA will host a tent at the park featuring over 50 artisans who will be displaying and selling their art. The event will also feature live music, beer and cider bar, food trucks, and children’s entertainment. The event looks to be an exciting celebration of our region’s food producers, beverage makers, and artisans, all set against the magnificent Hudson River and the scenic town of Hudson which will be bustling with local artists and tourists.

As we are an agricultural development nonprofit, we encourage a strong dedication to local foods and wish to create an exciting environment for our vendors as well as our attendees. The event generally draws between 700-800 attendees however, this year we predict to attract significantly more. HVADC and CCCA will heavily promote the event through print media (newspapers and magazines), radio, signage, email blasts, and social media. HVADC has the ability to perform outreach to thousands of families and individuals, as do our event partners.

I am also attaching a basic flyer with additional information. Please let me know if I can answer any questions.

Thank you Sara!

Best,

Iyla Shornstein
