hello Hudson Valley Cider Alliance,

I submitted a Specialty Crop Grant proposal to fund promotion of the Hudson Valley Cider Alliance and Cider Week Hudson Valley in 2015 & 2016. The proposal is attached, along with a letter of support in which HVCA members are named as signers, as well as a letter of support from Congressman Maloney.

With that done, NOW:
I need immediate input from all of you about Cider Week this year. We have decided to separate NYC from the Hudson Valley, for various reasons, and produce them slightly separately.
This means that we should consider whether Hudson Valley Cider Week should be held during different dates from NYC. My thought is yes, but I'd like your input and suggestions for dates.

Cider Week NYC is: Oct 24 - Nov 2. Should we hold Cider Week Hudson Valley earlier? Strategically, I would like to emphasize orchard/cidery tourism for Cider Week HV, and coordinate some collaborative producer events. What would be the best time for that?

I will also be hiring a "co-producer" as a freelance contractor to coordinate production of Cider Week Hudson Valley this year (and into the future, hopefully!). This year we have hired an excellent woman to learn the ropes for Cider Week NYC from Sabine, and carry it forward into the future. If you have someone to suggest, let me know.

In addition to Cider Week plans, I'd like to talk to you about the maintenance and use of the HVCA website and other potential projects, as well as the expansion of this group to include new "members."

Please let me know when you could join a conference call next Thurs May 8 or Friday May 9.

thank you,
Sara
