Sunday Morning Forum on Climate Justice
Sunday, February 28, 11:30 AM
Sanctuary, First Parish in Concord, 20 Lexington Rd., Concord

The speaker at this forum is Evan Seitz, a grassroots organizer around faith-based social justice initiatives, climate justice work, and values-based investing. He will speak about how churches can work together to organize effective and just climate action.

Climate Justice views global warming as an ethical and political issue, and considers how its causes and effects relate to concepts of justice, particularly environmental and social justice.

Evan works part time at First Parish in Bedford, where he is engaged as an organizer by the church’s Climate Justice group. He is also a project leader for climate action organizing with UU Mass Action. He is, for example, organizing resistance to the extension of a natural gas pipeline through West Roxbury.

Prior to his current efforts, Evan worked for the UU College of Social Justice and as a community planner helping neighborhoods rebuild after catastrophic natural disasters. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

The Sunday Morning Forum at First Parish in Concord is open to, and welcomes, all interested community members, regardless of church affiliation.  It features a wide variety of topics of interest to this congregation and others.
