HEET sent me this message and I thought you or someone you know might be interested in this workshop. I wish I could go, but I have to work that weekend. I have asked if there is a minimum age requirement. Will get back to anyone on this list who may be affected by such a thing.
Best,

HEET wants to help build an interfaith movement fighting climate change because so many large societal movements have come from the religious community.
We have 10 full scholarships available for members of a house of worship (either on staff or congregants) to get trained in community organizing through the Leadership Development Initiative.
The training will happen during the last weekend in January and will train participants in Marshall Ganz's community organizing techniques. He's a famous organizer from the Kennedy School.
The training will also offer on-going support to help each participant pick a community organizing project s/he wants to do and how to enact it.
It's a great way to step into a community of people of faith working hard to help people and the planet . You can get the on-going benefit of their knowledge and support for your own project. Some of the folks who have done this program were involved with the start of Occupy Wall Street.
Do you have 1 or 2 people you think would want this training and would use it well?
Training dates are:
Location: Church of the Redeemer, Chestnut Hill, MA
If you know of anyone who would be thrilled at this opportunity, have them email me. I think there will be only 10 slots available so speed could count.
