If anyone is interested - feel free to reply to Audrey (who is one of the more fantastic people around) or let me know.
HEET is the organization that has been organizing and carrying out weatherization workshops/workdays in low-income housing and churches throughout the Boston area over the last two years - making a huge impact on carbon emissions and saving people money.  They also inspired our recent work - which I need help closing the deal on (if anyone is interested please LMK).

Thanks,
-Eric

Subject: Last minute scholarship to interfaith community organizing workshop this weekend

This weekend, HEET is organizing a community organizing training to fight climate change from a faith perspective.

We had a last minute drop out and are looking for one last person to take the training.  Many of the attendees are the leading faith organizers in the Boston area.

The training will create an ongoing supportive structure for organizers to work together to fight climate change creating an interfaith movement.

It's free.  Food included.  This is a great opportunity.

The training is based on Marshall Ganz's model.  He's from Harvard's JFK school and is a famed organizer.

A skilled organizer experienced in Ganz's model will teach about how to create and sustain community networks and how to pick projects and accomplish them.

Training dates are:

This Fri, 1/27: 6-9 PM

This Sat, 1/28: 9 AM - 5 PM

Location: Church of the Redeemer, Chestnut Hill, MA

Here's information about the program.  Here are links to some of the projects that have resulted.

Know of anyone who could take the training and who would benefit from it?

The first person to respond who is reasonably appropriate gets the training.  Please forward to whomever you think might want the training.

Thanks,

Audrey
