What is one thing that my team should focus on this year?

Our team always recommends doing lots of driver practice. If you want to win best robot, driver practice is necessary. We really learned that lesson last year with our Freight Frenzy Robot, we had a good robot that was capable of doing a lot of things, but we never practiced so we couldn't utilize its potential. We found that we performed best when we practiced more, and so if you want to win the actual robotics part of the competition you are going to need to practice a lot. This also is incredibly important this season, as the entire field is an obstacle. This will make driver practice even more crucial as you must be able to navigate tight spaces. - Robbie

The thing that I would heavily prioritize is outreach/social media presence. One most important things in the judging categories is outreach, so by doing as much outreach as possible really elevates your chance at inspire. This outreach could be presentations at schools or malls, helping local FIRST teams, hosting educational summer camps, ect. This all is really beneficial to your community which should be the prime goal of your outreach. When you think of outreach, think about how you can make a difference, not how to get outreach hours. When doing presentations, this passion will shine and really set your team a part from the others. - Quin
