Subject: Information for cyclists - Traffic management removed and Whakawhirinaki Silverstream Pipe Bridge now open

Kia ora Gene and Matthew,

Following the successful connection of Whakawhirinaki Silverstream Pipe Bridge to the drinking water network, traffic management was fully removed from SH2 at Silverstream last week.

This means the northbound shoulder, adjacent to SH2 at Silverstream is now open.

Traffic management will remain in place on Fergusson Drive until early November while we complete the final stages of the project.

We’re very excited to share that Whakawhirinaki Silverstream Pipe Bridge is open to the public from today, Friday 24 October - just in time for the long weekend!

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we and Greater Wellington work to improve the resilience of our region’s water supply. We also appreciate your help with keeping the cyclist community informed on the impacts throughout this project.

For more information on this project, check out the project webpage and our social media channel.

Ngā mihi nui,
Ann Nguyen
