Upper Hutt City Council have now asked for feedback on their Draft Transport Strategy 2026–2056 closing 27 May. I had expected that they would be asking for a more detailed response with the option to speak to submissions however it is in the form of a short survey with mostly multiple choice questions about priorities. There are 3 questions requiring a short answer (Maximum 255 characters) as follows -

11. What is one change that would make the biggest difference to how you travel?* required* (not a misprint. I referred to Q2 as well as adding another change)
12. Is there anything else you would like us to consider when planning transport in Upper Hutt?
At the start of the survey they ask for your interests in the strategy and the options include visiting Upper Hutt as well as being resident or having a business there. If you can spare the time I think that it would be good to get as many responses in supporting safer walking and cycling routes and better public transport.
