Good afternoon,

 

Downer will be carrying out some maintenance work for Wellington city Council on the Old Hutt Rd on the south bound side close to stock effluent disposal facility.

 

On the night of 02 and 03 December the team will dig out a section of the road which will then be repaved the next morning. Then on the night of 04 December the footpath in the same area will be dug out and cyclists will be diverted to the road. Please see image below:

 

 

Cyclists will need to take care through this area as the surface will be uneven and the layout altered during the works. Also please note this is weather dependant so if it pours we won’t be able to repave until it’s dry again or may need to reschedule altogether.

 

We’re conscious that there is a large number of cyclists that commute into the city via this route and we’d appreciate if you could let your communities know in case it affects them.
