I accidentally harvested a Little Sister, but it had been so long since my last save that I didn't want to reload, and just kept playing. Now I've found out that apparently the game's ending changes depending on whether you harvest or rescue the Little Sisters. Will one accidental kill ruin my chances at the "good" ending?

I tried to Google this, and the various answers out there are about 50/50 "Even a single kill will change the ending" or "You have to kill at least two or three before anything changes." Because of that, I'd appreciate some kind of source for the answer if possible.

There are two possible endings for BioShock that depend on how you treated little sisters throughout the game. If you choose to "harvest" more than one little sister, you will get the bad BioShock ending. If, however, you "harvest" no more than one little sister but "rescue" the others, you will get the good BioShock ending.

If you save all the Little Sister you get the good ending (even if you kill one LS), but if you decide to harvest more than one or all, you will get the alternative endings. There are two, and each one depends if you saved some and harvested some or just decided to harvest all. Though the two negative endings are similar, the 'feeling' from the narrator changes - not the story. You release mayhem upon the real world if you decide to be a killer of Little Sisters.

I have just completed the game with the good ending. I think I killed the second little sister, the first one the doctor asks you to save, but the second Atlas says "would you kindly kill the little monster." Don't want to spoil, but I guess that kind of makes it okay. If you get to Ryan you will understand.

I'm playing my first ever run of BioShock and I'm saving all the little sisters and I just got to the part where Andrew Ryan is dead and Frank reveals himself. I was running away and got directed by a little sister into a vent where I fell and woke up in Tenenbaum's lab and I was wondering, do you still get directed into the vent and into Tenenbaum's lab if you kill all the little sisters? If not, what happens?

Try following the big daddy around for a bit before attacking him. In the first BioShock, he'll eventually go up to a vent and pound on the wall. If a Little Sister climbs out, you're in luck! If not, then don't bother killing him: Not all Big Daddies escort Little Sisters (These are the ones you should hypnotize to help you!). However, if you kill a Big Daddy before he helps his Little Sister out of the vent, then as far as I can tell, there's no way to get her to come out, save from leaving the area, and returning. Also, I'm not sure about BioShock 2, but in the first game, if you pause, some icons appear at the bottom of the screen indicating how many total Little Sisters are in that area. They also indicate whether or not they've been rescued/harvested, or are still with a Big Daddy.

In general, Little Sisters cannot be taken by anyone other than you. However, If you do kill a Big Daddy and the Little Sister is nowhere to be seen, chances are good that she was recently helped into a vent by the Big Daddy you just killed. If you wait around for a while, another Big Daddy will come and get her. Big Daddy's will only respawn if you failed to aquire the Little Sister he was partnered with. On a side note, In the part where you're roaming around the Upper Wharf early on after talking to the crazy fisherman guy, all three Big Daddies will show up in the same room if you wait around enough. And, it's near enough to a Vita Chamber that you can keep wearing them down until all three are dead.

Alright, so I'm playing the game literally as I type this, and I know for an absolute fact that there are rogue Big Daddies. I'm watching a fourth Big Daddy walk past the dead body of a fifth and pound on a vent right now after I (saved) all three Little Sisters on the level. He never found a little sister, so I just took control of him and brought him back to the room where the three I had killed previously and saw yet a sixth Big Daddy!

I've chased after Little Sisters after killing their Big Daddy, and watched them climb into one of those holes in the walls. After this happens, you have to leave the area and come back after a new Big Daddy shows up. Kill the new Big Daddy, and nab the Little Sister before she runs away.

After that I chased another one to get the last little sister, I saw him banging on the hole. No little sister. :( Then I remembered that I left one of them behind. So, I went back to that area. To hear a little sister crying. And I adopted her.

Check the options screen to make sure there are still Little Sisters in the area.If you are close to a vent, a Little Sister may crawl back in before/after you battle the Big Daddy. You will often hear her say "I'm tired. Time for beddy bye". If so, move between the Little Sister and the vent before you take on the Big Daddy.I found the best time is when the Big Daddy is either fighting another foe, or the Little Sister is retrieving Adam from a body.If you use "hypnotize Big Daddy" on a Big Daddy guarding a Little Sister, she will return to the nearest vent. Rather than kill the Big Daddy, just let it go to retrieve the Little Sister again.

On February 4, 2007, Paris Lee Bennett, a 13-year-old American boy, murdered his 4-year-old sister, Ella Bennett, in Abilene, Texas. Paris stabbed Ella 17 times as he choked and sexually assaulted her.

As a child, Paris was known as charismatic and likable and was reported to have an IQ of 141. After Paris's younger sister Ella was born, he seemed to show resentment that he was no longer the only focus of his mother's life. One year prior to the murder of Ella, Paris was put in a mental health facility after attempting to stab Charity.[3]

Bioshock ended up being quite the experience, but the game asks you one very large question: do you save or do you harvest the little sisters? The little girls who run around the game world collecting the mind- and body-altering ADAM give you a bonus either way: if you harvest them by killing the little girls, you get 160 ADAM. If you save them, you get 80 ADAM. However, the question is made more difficult by the fact that the more sisters you save, the more you're rewarded with ADAM and items by another character in the game. So which way gets you more ADAM?

One of our forum-goers, twinky, decided to find out. He graphed the difference between killing and saving the sisters in terms of the ADAM you receive, and he found that while at the beginning the bonus for killing is great, towards the middle and end of the game the bonus packages you receive for saving the little girls levels out most of the short-term gain.

While this decision does affect your ending, and whether you can sleep with yourself at night, if you're worried that by saving the little sisters you will be missing out on the ADAM needed to upgrade your powers, don't be. The game will take care of you either way.

Frank Fontaine created his Little Sister's Orphanage in Apollo Square and other locations as a front to exploit the children as his supply of hosts for ADAM production. When Andrew Ryan took over Fontaine Futuristics, he discovered the existence of the children. He found them appalling, but had to accept the necessity of their existence to generate the quantity of ADAM Rapture now required. It wasn't long before the entire city became aware of where ADAM was really coming from. He shut down those false orphanages, and continued to use the Little Wonders Educational Facility to house the existing ADAM hosts. With the City's ADAM addiction endemic, and ADAM's use to fight the civil war, shortages were becoming critical. Eventually, as the civil war's body counts grew and the shortages increased, a solution to get additional ADAM led to using the children to obtain ADAM from corpses. Little Sister ADAM hosts were mentally and physically prepared for this grim harvesting role. Ryan, to negate the abhorence of the population, portrayed the Little Sisters in a marketing gimmick, their image being used on Plasmid and Tonic vending machines called Gatherer's Gardens, and even produced toy dolls of them. Rapture public announcements introduced them as the salvation of the City, a reassurance of continuing ADAM production. With the growing chaos of the Civil War, the demand for ADAM soared and Ryan Industries resorted to kidnapping little girls from their parents to create more Little Sisters.

This bond proved to be too effective, however, as each Big Daddy in the Alpha Series became useless after his Little Sister was killed by attacking Splicers or saved by Brigid Tenenbaum. Any Alpha Series model that was not rendered comatose as a result of his Sister being lost descended into emotional instability to the point of psychosis. When the Alpha Series failed, it was discovered that previous Big Daddy models such as the Bouncer and Rosie could be used as more suitable protectors.

With physical and neurological drives in place, the Little Sisters eagerly pursued gathering ADAM in Rapture. The ADAM coursing through their bodies made them virtually indestructible, immediately repairing any damaged tissue. However, they still had the stature and strength of small girls (not to mention their constant hallucinatory state); thus, they were a constant target for abduction and exploitation. Dr. Suchong, in light of the rising mortality rate of Little Sisters, initiated the Protector Program. The idea was to create a series of protectors that would defend the Little Sisters from Splicer attacks so they could gather ADAM without interference. This ambition proved to be more of a challenge than anticipated by the scientists, and numerous attempts were needed to find the right balance of ADAM-based conditioning in both the gatherer and the protector. Despite the tests and trials, through the hands of a third party, the final key to the bond was found to be quid pro quo, as both discover that one could not survive without the other. The results of the program had each Little Sister paired with a Big Daddy, a heavily spliced human test subject grafted into an enormous armored diving suit. After an unfortunate event leading to the demise of Dr. Suchong, the bond was further strengthened through conditioning employing pheromones. The pheromone produced by the Big Daddy attracted the Little Sisters, and its counterpart produced by the Little Sisters instinctively drove the Big Daddies to defend them with their lives. Once Big Daddies came into full production, the Little Sisters were also put through a course of Pavlovian psychological exercises,[4] designed to force them into rejecting all positive feelings towards any mother-type figure, and instead place all of their affection upon a generic Big Daddy archetype. As a result, the little girls see every Big Daddy protecting them as the same person, and consider the mere mention of the word 'Mommy' to be taboo.
