Hey Michael,  you are right!  We decommissioned the Hustle hang-out in HipChat because it is not a useful solution unless you are paying (IMO).  I have created the #hustle channel on chat.freenode.net.  There is also the Disco channel #discoproject and of course these mailing lists.  I will update the docs accordingly.
