The precious son of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S and Janabe Fatema Binte-Asad , the partner of Noor-e-Awwal , the brother , the son-in-law and the first successor of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W , the revered husband of Janabe Fatema Zehra S.A and the noble and holy father of Imam Hasan A.S , Imam Husain A.S , Janabe Zainab and Janabe Umme-Kulthoom was born inside the holy Kaaba on the 13th of Rajab in the 30th Amul-Feeel. The world had never seen a such birth inside a sacred place before and neither will the world ever do. This unique wiladat of our first Imam is well-known to everyone. The Commander of the Faithfuls and the Leader of the Pious was created of the first Light and the same Light as the Noor of our Holy Prophet S.A.W long long before the creation of Hazrat Adam A.S and the construction of this world and the entire universe. As the Holy Prophet S.A.W has said: “I and Ali are of one and the same Divine Light."
So it is really impossible to know the age of existence of these creations of Light. But this partner of the Noor-e-Awwal was delivered to this world as a human being on the 13th of Rajab through Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S and Janabe Fatema Binte-Asad. The holy mother and father of our holy Imam were the most pious and beholders of the most noble characters. The purety of Janabe Fatema Binte Asad can be understood by this peerless birth of her holy child inside the sacred Kaaba. The birth event took place something like this:
When Janabe Fatema felt the delivery pain she headed towards Khana-e-Kaaba acting according to the advise and command of our Holy Prophet S.A.W. She approached the sacred House of Allah to perform the tawaaf. Afterwards she leaned against the wall of Kaaba and supplicated to her Lord in these words: “ My Creator and my Lord I have faith in You , in all the holy Prophets You have sent and faith in all the holy books You have revealed. I pray by the Truth of the Builder of Khana-e-Kaaba Hazrat Ibraheem A.S and by the Truth which is with my child who is inside my womb , please make my delivery easy.” Before Janabe Fatema uttered her last words of her supplication the wall of Kaaba opened up for her and Janabe Fatema Binte Asad stepped inside. When she had entered the wall of Kaaba was closen and turned into its real position. We are all aware of how pure the sacred Kaaba is then can we understand the purity of the holy mother of our first Imam who was invited inside the holy Kaaba to give birth to her child?? No we can’t . She gave birth not to an ordinary child but to an infallible Imam , brother and successor of the Holy Prophet S.A.W. Hazrat Ali A.S next to our Last Prophet S.A.W is superior to all the prophets. When Janabe Maryam the holy mother of our holy Prophet Hazrat Eesa A.S felt the delivery pain she approached Bait-ul-Muqaddas but stopped when she heard a concealed voice telling her:” O’ Maryam this is a place of worship not a place for delivering a child .”
But when Janabe Fatema Binte Asad was in the same situation the Lord opened the wall of Kaaba to invite her inside it. Not only did she stay there for three days but survived by eating the food of Heaven that was revealed to her. On Friday the 13th of Rajab our first infallible Imam was born inside the holy Kaaba. At His birth the Holy Imam prostrated before Allah and then testified that there is no God but Allah and Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W is His Prophet. The holy mother of Hazrat Ali A.S has said:” When Ali was born He did not open up His eyes for three days. I was very worried but soon our holy Prophet S.A.W arrived when He was informed by Allah that His successor had been born. As the Noble Messenger took the newborn Imam in his arms immediately my child opened up His eyes.” Hazrat Ali had now seen the awaited One and was happy to lay His eyes on the holy Holy Prophet S.A.W. In the arms of the Noble Messenger S.A.W Hazrat Ali A.S offered His salutations and then recited chapters from all the holy Books and at last verses from the Holy Quraan. Our Holy Prophet S.A.W embraced the Holy Imam and said :” O’Ali when you are mine , I too am yours”. After these words our Holy Prophet S.A.W gave His tounge to Hazrat Ali A.S for Him to suckle. The tounge of the Prophethood was inside the mouth of Imamat when 12 springs opened at once and Hazrat Ali A.S was satisfied and pleased by this holy saliva.
The fourth day Janabe Fatema Binte Asad stepped outside the Holy Kaaba to come home. When the holy Prophet S.A.W asked Janabe Fatema and Hazrat Abu-Talib what name they had given to their child they answered : “ The father has named Him Zaid and the mother has given her son the name Asad.” Then the Prophet S.A.W said that you should also name Him Ali. And no one ever before Hazrat Ali A.S had been given this name. Janabe Fatema Binte Asad said : “ This is indeed what I heard when I was inside the Kaaba that a concealed voice was telling that His name should be Ali but I kept this secret until now.” Another famous name of Hazrat Ali A.S is Haider which was also given to Him by His holy mother. We are all aware of the story behind this name and when it was given to our holy Imam. During the Battle of Khaybar Imam Ali had said to Marhab: “Anal-Lazi Summatni Ummi Haidarah.” The epithets of Hazrat Ali A.S are many as some are : Abul-Hasan and Abu-Turab are the most famous and among the titles are: Ameer-ul-Momeneen , Al-Murtuza , Asad-ullah , Yad-ullah , Nafs-ullah , Haidar-e-Karrar , Nafse-Rasool and Saaqiye-Kausar…
The upbringing of Hazrat Ali A.S was done by the holy Prophet S.A.W and the fountains of all the Divine knowledge was opened up to Him. Being the successor of the Holy Prophet S.A.W , Imam Ali A.S was endowed with same excellent qualities as His master. It is impossible for us to understand how much knowledge that was given to Hazrat Ali A.S. The Holy Prophet has said : “ Ana Madinat-ul-Ilm Wa Aliyun Baaboha “. Imam Ali A.S himself has said : “ The Holy Prophet S.A.W has fed me with His knowledge like a dove feeds its young dove with birdseed.” On the pulpit of Masjid-e-Kufa He said: “ Saluni Qabla An Tafqiduni “ Ask me before you lose me , I am more aware of the knowledge of the heaven than the knowledge of the earth.” Imam Ali A.S has also said: “By Allah! There is no verse in the Qur'an except that I know regarding whom it was revealed and where it was revealed, whether in the plain or on the mountain.” Once Ibne Abbas desired that Imam Ali A.S would explain the exegesis of Bismilla-hirrahma-nir-raheem. Hazrat Ali A.S began to explain and continued all night. At dawn He said to Ibne Abbas: “ I can explain the exegesis of the Bismillah to you that much that if you write it down it can be loaded on to 70 camels. But I can sum it up for you like this : What is in the whole Quraan is in the chapter of Al-Hamd , what is in the chapter of Al-Hamd is in Bismilla-hirrahma-nir-raheem , what is in the Bismilla-hirrahma-nir-raheem is in the letter of Baa , and what is in the letter of Baa is in the dot of Baa and “ Wa Ana Nuqtat-ul-Lati Tahtal-Baa “( I am the dot of Baa).
There is no one who is able to write the merits of Hazrat Ali A.S. And the Holy Prophet S.A.W has said : “ Even if the seas of the earth would become inc and the trees would become pen and all the human beings and Jinn would sit down to write the merits of Hazrat Ali A.S they would never manage to do so.” Then how can I , a sinful maidservant try it. But we should all know that the holy Prophet S.A.W has also said:” To behold the face of Hazrat Ali A.S is an act of worship and to listen , write , read or to sermonize about Hazrat Ali A.S is also an act of worship. That is why I have taken the courage to write this article in hope that Allah accept it. Today on the birth-anniversary of our Master and Imam we extend our heartily congratulations and felicitations to our Living Imam A.S and then to all momeneen and momenaat all around the world especially to the shias of Iraq. May their misery be away soon and may they have a life filled with joy and happiness. May also Allah safeguard the holy places and the sacred shrines of our Masoomeen A.S. We supplicate to Allah with the bottom of our hearts to the day to come soon when our Final Imam and the Final Successor of our Holy Prophet S.A.W appears and puts an end to all the injustice and cruelty of this world.
