Happy Thursday Ultimate Fam,

The number one thing I love about playing ultimate is the community that comes with it. The ladies of Gravity (Huntsville's Women's team) have been reached out to by the women's team in New Orleans. As you all know, New Orleans was hit hard by floods last week. Gravity has decided to try to round up as many supplies and donations as possible to give to the NOLA team to help out their community. However, Gravity needs your help!!

The New Orleans ultimate ladies are out on the ground, volunteering and cleaning up the wreckage. They are in desperate need of supplies to do this. These supplies are all sold out or ruined in NOLA. If you would like to help, we could use your donation of any of the following items (the most crucial are bolded). Also note that they don't mind if these are second hand!!!!!!

Gloves Hammers
Masks Crowbars
Contractor Bags Utility Knives
Lots of Mold Remover (Not Bleach) Levels
Bleach Shovels
Pine Sol Dust Pans
Large Plastic Bins Tarps
Rags Brooms
Steel Wool 5-Gallon Buckets
Box Fans Spray Bottles
Wire Brushes

How do I drop off donations? Excellent question! You can drop them off with these fine people at any of these days and times:

  • Today, Aug. 25th from 6p-7:30p at UAH Materials Science Field with Catherine Spencer or Liz Craig
  • Saturday, Aug. 27th from 9a-1p at Merrimack Fields with Andy Sieja
  • Sunday, Aug. 28th from 9a-1p at Merrimack Fields with Liz Craig
**If you can get donations to us TODAY, that would be the most helpful, since Gravity will be seeing the NOLA team on Saturday at Sectionals and we can hand-deliver those items. All items received Sat or Sun will have to be shipped to them.

If you would like to make a monetary donation instead, you can paypal me at: elc...@auburn.edu
Again, the sooner the better. I think Gravity ladies are going to go pick up some of these supplies tomorrow afternoon.

I urge you all to be a part of something bigger than yourself and to step out of your Huntsville bubble. The ladies of Gravity thank you in advance for your support!!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Much love,

Liz Craig
