Subject: RE: capacity of Haiti construction companies
Hello Felix,
Thanks for your e-mail.
It is true that we are all working overtime.
However, not all construction companies have work. The reason is that the formal sector of the construction is halted. Construction permits are on hold. The ones that have overload of works are those involved in retrofit and in shelters. I could easily refer to you construction companies interested in getting involved in the humanitarian effort.
Concerning our meeting, you may want to contact Karl Epstein 37272727 to see what he is doing with containers. There is another contact: Charles 37010745 from GBG Beton that is involved in classrooms with containers. Let me know if you have trouble contacting them or if you need further help.
I received an invitation on the google forum, I think it was from you, concerning the community project. Thanks, I appreciate.
Tell Frederick about my visit on the site with Mr. Zennie the structural engineer, in case he is interested. You and him, feel free to call me anytime at 37012019.

Subject: capacity of Haiti construction companies
Dear Albert,
Greetings from the IFRC base-camp. Hope this message finds you well.
Would you have an idea about the workload of the Haitian construction companies in Port au Prince and neighbouring settlements? I can imagine that the local businesses and households are using the contractors for the rehabilitation of damages. On the other hand, the humanitarian organisations are preparing the all kinds of reconstruction activities. Are the Haitian construction companies already working at their maximum capacity or just mobilising a part of their capacity.
During our meeting last Saturday, you made a phone call with a local steel processing company to see the project with the containers. If you can provide us with the contact details of this company and we can make an appointment to visit it.
With kind regards,
Felix
