First official question for the group:
Some links to working maps have been posted in the Google Group and we also
have links to the working maps on the To Do list of the Maps Team Wiki page
(not the public page). I think we should only have one spot to store all
our work and links. What do you prefer? Which location works best for you?
Team Page http://www.gustavwiki.com/wiki/Interactive_Maps_Team_Page
Go here to get work assignments and working links. Post public notes and
news on the discussions tab at this page. There are also some resource
links there - feel free to add to all this.

traffic.com for new orleans has some very detailed, useful
reporting on road conditions; see
http://www.traffic.com/New-Orleans-Traffic/New-Orleans-Traffic-Reports.html
now they don't have everything, and they don't cover
every metro region in the wake of Gustav (in particular
Baton Rouge is not covered). but what this does say
to me is that there's a map infrastructure that I was ignorant
of focused solely on traffic reporting that would be worthwhile
to bake into our thinking.
(apologies to anyone for whom this is obvious)

The evacuation routes map for South Carolina was live yesterday. You can
click the TRAFFIC link at the top of the Google map to show real time
traffic info on that map. There is a message about this on the map.
