Project Pat Memorial (Thanksgiving) Hat Tournament

Hope everyone is doing well, especially in the wake of the hurricane and nor’eastern.  Thanksgiving is fast approaching and that means our annual hat tournament, the Project Pat Memorial Hat Tournament, is right around the corner!  The tournament will be held Friday, November 23^rd 2012 (the day after Thanksgiving) at Breezy Park in Huntington.  This is the same location we used last year (Oakwood Rd and West Rogues Path) and we are very fortunate to have secured it again.  We will have access to the turf fields, bathrooms, music, hot water, snacks, music (courtesy of White Noise) and of course, great ultimate! 

The cost of the tournament will be $15/person, with a portion of those proceeds going to the Patrick McCour Memorial Scholarship Fund.  For those of you who do not know, Patrick was one of, if not the driving force behind HUSL and the Long Island ultimate scene.  He passed away last year, and this tournament is a way of honoring his memory and everything he did for the Ultiamte community.  There will be limited amounts of merchandise available for purchase as well (wristbands, sweatbands, jerseys and discs). 

Some other notes and rules regarding this tournament:

-Date: November 23^rd 2012

-Registration and Check-in will begin at 8:30 PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN THIS TO ENSURE WE STAY ON SCHEDULE

-Baggages are allowed, fill it out on the registration form and make sure your baggage approves

-Games will start promptly at 9 am and go until around 4 or 5 pm

-There will be 5 teams of 20 people/team

-4 Games of round robin paly, 45 minutes, 11 point cap

-After round robin, the teams will be seeded and the 5^th team dropped out

-Bracket play after re-seeding

-Everyone will play at least 4 games, a max of 6

-There will be typical tournament food available as well as water, but not a bad idea to bring your own

-Family and non-ultiamte friends of Patrick will be there as well

-Wristbands, Sweatbands and jerseys will be available for purchase in limited supply

-All others who aren’t playing are more than welcome to come and hang out!

-RULES

                -No food or drinks allowed on the turf (water only)

                -No pets

                -No metal spikes

 

The party won’t stop once the last point is scored, we hope to continue celebration elsewhere after hours!
