I'm interested.  Clojure fan and Haskell n00b; Jeff Thurston pointed me at this list, I work down the hall from him in NASA enterprise-land.

Haven't touched Avout yet, it's on my long list of interesting Clojure projects to check out.  I'll push it to the front.

I'll be there today, and we can do some live coding with whomever shows up.

But I'd like to know what we could change to make the group more meaningful. Would a different time/date/location help? More structured topics? Maybe if someone was actually in charge?

We'll meet at the 347, at 347 Hughes Road (http://bit.ly/akG9qw). I'll be there around 11:00, but feel free to drop in any time between 11:00 and 11:30.

The location definitely makes it difficult for me to get there (30+ minutes each way).  But i really appreciate that we have the venue, and it seems to work for most people.  So i wouldn't even advocate changing it.

Does anyone else have trouble making it to 347 by 11:00? I have a
regular Tuesday morning meeting that makes it difficult to get away
from the office that early. Would shifting the meeting time back a
half-hour (from 11:00 to 11:30) make it easier for more folks to
attend?

That's settled. We'll move the start time to 11:30.

We had a good impromptu discussion of Scala's Option and Lift's Box types, and how they are used for null and error handling.

What topics would be interesting for next time? Anyone willing to dig into Avout and show us how awesome it is?

At the347, a facility at 347 Hughes Road.  It's right between the Bruegger's and Subway across from Kroger.

We meet at 11:30 on the first Tuesday of every month.
