Hey folks,

I'm doing poorly on my New Year's resolution to keep up with everything better. Baby steps! Last month, Bubba Satcher had volunteered to discuss parametricity in January. Assuming he's still up for it, that'll be the topic of conversation for tomorrow. Hope to see everyone at Radiance tomorrow!

- Jason

P.S. I may not be there tomorrow. My 5 y/o doesn't go back to school until Jan 9th, and her old daycare didn't have a vacancy for her for tomorrow. Go ahead and start without me if need be!

Bah, we moved it to the 10th.  Let's do it then.  I'm not ready.

The 10th does sound better.

Ahh yes, that's an important detail that I forgot. Thanks for the reminder of things that I've agreed to do!

Excellent! I'm off this week and could not have made it tomorrow.

Something else we could talk about as a side topic, perhaps, is Hickey's dissing of Maybe/Option: https://youtu.be/YR5WdGrpoug

BTW, I don't mention the Hickey thing because I'm indignant. I've been fiddling with some Clojure and Racket recently. Just wondering what everybody thinks about the merit of his points.

That video has been on my watch list for about a month now. I'll make it one of the next talks that I watch!

Also, I had a meeting come up that I need to attend so I will unfortunately not be able to make it. I was looking forward to Bubba's talk too!

For February, I may need a backup. One of the guys in my lab was wanting to do a talk on formal proofs, but I don't know if he is/we are going to have the talk ready in enough time. Does anyone have a topic they'd like to discuss? If not, I'd love to see everyone's take on The Gilded Rose kata
