Hello Heidi:
Tomorrow is the first day of school!
At 8am the
administration will greet students and families at the
front entrance on 94th street. Once you have said good morning to
Principal Ketchum and Ms. Roy, please proceed to our classroom, Room
108 (directly across the hall from the Elementary School Library). Ms.
Abrams and Ms. Ou will greet you at the classroom door and help you
get started with a family scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt will
guide you through the unpacking process and discovery of the classroom
so please follow the directions carefully. Most students will need
their family's assistance completing the scavenger hunt so please plan
to stay for ten or fifteen minutes to help your child get settled in.
Our class is scheduled for Physical Education with Ms. Lynch on the
first day of school and each Monday and Thursday thereafter. For
safety reasons and in order to properly care for our facilities
students must wear sneakers to physical education
classes. Please make
sure your child wears sneakers to school tomorrow and each Monday and
Thursday throughout the school year.
Additionally, please remember to bring a snack, lunch or money for
purchasing lunch, a backpack, a rainy day box and a change of
clothes.
If you have not done so already, please submit your child's
dismissal plan to Ms. Abrams via email as soon as possible or in note
form tomorrow morning. (Ms. Ou's email address has not yet been
activated.) A big thank you to the six families who have already
submitted dismissal plans for the week.
First graders who will be picked up at the end of the day will meet
their caregivers in the Ron Brown Playground on 95th street at 2:50pm.
Please make sure to sign out with Ms. Abrams when picking up your
child. Students who are not picked up by 3pm will be brought to the
Hawk's Nest after school program. Bus students will be taken to
their
busses by Ms. Ou.
Remember to get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. We
can't wait to meet you in the morning!
Warmly,
Ms. Abrams and Ms. Ou
