Hey old friends and new!
Tomorrow -Thursday, September 18th - will be the first open meeting of Students for a Democratic Society. It will be held at room 509 in the Hunter West building. We will begin the meeting shortly after 5 PM. If you've got the time and the opportunity to come by and talk about building a real student movement at Hunter & CUNY.
Agenda for the meeting.
I. An Introduction to SDS.
Taking a look at our study group during the summer and the statement coming out of it.
II. CUNY Budget Protest.
September 22nd CUNY Budget Protest is being planned by different people across CUNY. We will also discuss shortly what kind of work we want to do around this issue as a whole.
III. Movie Showing?
We have passed around the idea to do a movie showing next week, we have yet to put out the details and get this decided at this meeting if we're going to do it.
IV. SDS-CRAASH concert.
Coalition for the Revitalization of Asian American Studies at Hunter College (CRAASH) is working with SDS to have a concert in late October.
V. Prachanda-Morales in NYC.
Various left-wing and revolutionary leaders are going to be in NYC for a session of the General Assembly in the United Nations. Public speaking events are going to be held next week. One event with Evo Morales, the President of Bolivia and another with Prime Minister Prachanda of Nepal.
and other times will be discussed after these.
