Fundamental to human development and disease, cell-cell fusion is essential in fertilization, muscle regeneration, placental formation, tissue regeneration, and cancer progression. Research in the Tang lab focuses on decoding and rewiring the cell-surface interactomes for cell-cell fusion and cell-surface receptor signaling. The Tang lab uses structural biology, cell biology, and protein engineering to investigate receptor-mediated cell-surface recognition and the molecular machine for membrane fusion. The Tang lab exploits mechanistic and structural knowledge on these molecular interactions to enable design and development of protein-based therapeutics and vaccines.

Applicants should have at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Applicants should hold or expect to receive a Ph.D. (or equivalent.) in biochemistry, structural biology, cell biology, or a related field. A postdoctoral associate position is immediately available for a NIH funded project in the Ouyang lab at Yale University, focusing on research related to metabolic inflammation in the context of obesity, insulin resistance, and NASH/ASH. The lab is dedicated to advancing the understanding the core metabolic signaling in the control of inflammation, emphasizing the impact of RNA metabolism on metabolic disease pathogenesis.

Successful candidate will lead exciting new projects in RNA metabolism including RNA epigenetics and RNA binding proteins in metabolic diseases. The Yale Cardiovascular Research Group (YCRG) provides scientific leadership and clinical research expertise to advance cardiovascular medical technology and clinical practice. YCRG is an Academic Research Organization dedicated to providing high-quality research services that drive cardiovascular medicine forward. The Group was founded in 2010 by Dr. Alexandra Lansky as an integral part of the Yale School of Medicine. Our highly experienced team has partnered with a wide range of sponsors to design and execute Phase I-IV clinical trials of medical devices across the full range of topics in cardiovascular medicine. YCRG offers clinical events committee organization and implementation to independently adjudicate clinical events, conforming to regulatory requirements within single- or multicenter, national or international clinical trials. Training. We are seeking a Postdoc to assist with the management of Clinical Event Committee (CEC) activities. Responsible for narrative writing and data verification from medical records, which may include interpretation of ECG and angiographic results, project coordination and management, medical writing, and administration functions. Will assist with the formation of the committee, communications with CEC meeting members, relay any endpoint or adjudication process-related problems or issues to the relevant parties. Assemble endpoint files from all enrolling sites and proof each one for completeness and appropriate blinding, before it is sent to the CEC members for adjudication. Collect and assemble source documents in support of each suspect endpoint for the Clinical Events Committee (CEC).

A NIH-funded post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Susan J. Baserga, MD, PhD, in the Departments of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University and the Yale School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be driving research into the mechanistic biochemical and physiological aspects of how ribosomes are made in eukaryotic cells using model systems ranging from human cell lines and mice to Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Xenopus tropicalis. The successful candidate will not only gain extensive experience working in these model systems but will also receive expert career mentoring. They will develop skills in a wide range of basic biochemical and genetic techniques including, but not limited to, high throughput screening, northern blots, western blots, qPCR, subcellular fractionation, co-immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence and RNA-seq.

Ribosome biogenesis is essential for cells and developing organisms. As such, ribosome production is often dysregulated in cancer and is implicated in a growing number of congenital human genetic diseases known as the ribosomopathies (a recent paper from our laboratory can be found here at Bryant et al PNAS ). We have also uncovered strong evidence to support a role for the nucleolus and ribosome biogenesis in embryonic development, neurodegenerative diseases, cytoskeletal integrity, and DNA repair, among other cellular processes and diverse signaling pathways (see our papers in Cell Reports, 2018; Molecular Biology of the Cell 2021). This year we have published a landmark study on how microRNAs regulate the making of ribosomes (Nucleic Acids Research 2024), leading us in an entirely new scientific direction to relevant questions of human brain development. The successful candidate will conceptualize and design original research among these themes and execute it in an environment that values teamwork, camaraderie, and intellectual curiosity.

Candidates must be highly-motivated and have a PhD in the biological sciences, with a degree in biochemistry, genetics, cancer biology, developmental biology, or cell biology preferred. A high level of proficiency in basic laboratory techniques is also required.

We are actively recruiting a postdoctoral associate to join the Public Health Data Science and Data Equity research team in the School of Public Health with a primary home in the Department of Biostatistics.

The postdoctoral associate will work with Dr. Bhramar Mukherjee, Ph.D, the inaugural Senior Associate Dean of Public Health Data Science and Data Equity, Anna M.R. Lauder endowed Professor of Biostatistics, Professor of Chronic Disease Epidemiology, Professor of Statistics and Data Science, with a focus on analysis of electronic health records and real world healthcare data and global health. There may also be opportunities for collaboration with faculty with experience in cancer and cardiovascular diseases. The position is for one year, and is renewable for a second year based on satisfactory performance and progress.

The postdoctoral associate will actively participate in methodological and collaborative research and support writing research grants. Professional development will be an integral part of the position. This position offers postdocs the opportunity to develop expertise in analyzing complex non-probability observational samples and get involved in exciting applications harnessing data from multiple different biobanks.
