This online tool lets you change the JPG quality. It has only one option that sets the new quality parameter. It can range from 0% to 200%, where 100% is the current JPG quality, 0% to 99% is a lower quality JPG, and 101% to 200% is a higher quality JPG. When you create a low-quality JPG, the number of colors in the photo is reduced and rough pixels appear. The closer the value approaches 0%, the more JPG artifacts appear and the quality becomes worse and worse as the compression of the file increases. When creating a high-quality JPG, the contrast and saturation of colors increases and the details in the JPG are sharpened. The closer the value approaches 200%, the more JPG approaches a HD-quality photo. As the quality increases, the file size also increases. Jpg-abulous!

This example increases the resolution of a JPEG from a low-resolution photo to a high-resolution photo. It sets the quality parameter to 175%, which increases the contrast, sharpness, and detail of the mountain edges and the river reflections by 75%. The new JPEG is almost HD-quality. In this example, we enhance the quality of a cake JPG by 50%. Even though the visual difference in the contrast and colors of the enhanced JPG is stunning, this operation increases the file size just slightly from 110KB to 116KB. (Source: Pexels.)

I recently picked back up at video editing, and I've made a few videos. My first two were fine, in terms of video quality, they were clearly 1080p 60fps. My newest video that I've recently finished exports in what appears to be a lower quality. I have used all of the same settings for each video:

Use Max Render Quality is checked. Audio is untouched. I tried screenshotting what I meant, but that does not seem to be working for me at the moment. To describe the problem further, I exported my first video with no problem: it came out buttery smooth with full resolution and my desired framerate. My second video took longer to export because the first few times it came out looking more muddy than it showed in the window during editing. After changing my settings back to what they normally are (see above), somehow it fixed the problem. Now, it exports, no matter how I change my settings, to a lower resolution: just overall grainy and very muddy, not at all like the crystal clear resolution I'm seeing while editing. Why is this happening?

H264 files are very much like JPEG still images. There's compression loss in the file to begin with. If the amount of compression is very low, the image quality can be very good; however, the compression is still there. If a lot of compression is applied, the image quality will be fairly low. Creating second, third and fourth generation files will look progressively worse.

It sounds like you care about image quality (as we all should). You want to switch to a CODEC where the 2nd generation file is visually indistinguishable form the original and has a high PSNR (peak signal noise ratio).

When tabbing out, there is a "feature" to reduce resolution, but causes the stream to stutter, pause, and skip around when coming back to normal when the video is tabbed out, or in the background. Please allow us to turn off this "feature" tabbing out to do moderation, or check on something then missing something that happened, like an alert, or action in the game is a terrible "feature" when the stream tries to catch up.

I have the same issue as PoopsieD00dle. I'm on DSL so 360p is ideal, but every time I look at another tab Twitch reverts back to 1080p (Source) and nukes my DSL modem into rebooting. I've tried twiddling between 160p and 360p a few dozen times to "train" Twitch my preferences but it's all to no avail. Please Fix This

I'm pretty sure they did something this year where they made sound drop further in quality when not in focus.It either becomes a bit tinny or random pops/clicks start to happen when not in front.
They're probably trying to cheap out on bandwidth or something just like how they axed korea from certain stuff.

Let us choose whether to use this "feature" or at least choose to only drop the video quality and leave the audio quality, because weirdly I can still hear it even if I can't see it, and I'm not paying subscriptions on channels to listen to them through a tin can on a piece of string whilst checking other sites.

I've recently started noticing this, too, in NA. The audio bitrate is definitely being downscaled, as verified by selecting various video qualities, manually downloading .ts chunks seen in the browser "Developer Tools" "Network" tab, and running ffmpeg -i on them:

The problem is that Twitch is auto-downgrading the "quality" to the 360p when the tab is obscured, and so I immediately hear the difference (when the browser does not interfere with the stream change) and get upset and re-expose the tab so that the quality improves again.

I would much rather that this feature merely switch to the audio-only mode (like used by the mobile app) rather than trying to also stream 360p video that is only visible for a split second when the tab is unobscured. Or stop scaling the audio. Or select a quality that does not downgrade the audio.

Recently, Twitch Web(South Korea) has been updated to reduce video quality and sound quality when not maintaining watching.
However, twitch streaming is not just for watching, but for watching and listening.
Moving to other tab doesn't mean not listening.
So, please don't lower the sound quality when moving to other tab in web-twitch

This browser-based utility changes the quality of PNG images. You can convert your image to a low-resolution PNG or a high-resolution PNG. When you decrease the PNG quality, the program reduces the clarity of details, sharpness, and colors, and also reduces the output PNG file size. When increasing the quality of the PNG, it enhances the details, sharpness, and contrast. These improvements make the colors more intense and sometimes even create a PNG of near HD quality. To change the quality of a PNG, all you have to do is adjust the only option, where you can enter the desired percentage of the new quality. Decreasing values from 99% to 0% reduces the quality of the PNG. Increasing values from 101% to 200% improves the quality of the PNG. You can instantly compare the quality difference of PNGs by looking at the first (original photo) and the second (photo after quality change) preview fields. You can download the reduced or enhanced quality PNG by using the save as button under the output preview field. Png-abulous!
