Hello everyone,
Happy Summer! It has been a while since my last email out to you as a group and I wish you and your loved ones have a nice summer. I am apologize for writing a long email; however, I did not have any other ways to cut it shorter. The reason for my email today is asking for your supports for one of our MN youth member and his name is Hưng (Steven) Võ.
Since he and I have a same first name, I will address him as Steven. Steven is a recent graduated from Kennedy High School and Lenduong Camp 2013 in Toronto was his first LD experience. I did travelled by
car with Steven and two other students so I did have opportunities to talk & talk along the way. I guess the students know more about my weak spots by now. Anyway, to help you to know more about Steven Vo, with his permission, I also attached his essay which he wrote for LD Camp scholarship.
Steven was very moved after attending the camp in Toronto and he would like to do something for our community. Steven asked me to help him to form a quick committee to plan out an event for you. Our initial committee was formed with the supports of Thang Le, Liem Vu, Thanh Tran (VSS, former Steven's counselor), c. LisaLan
Thai, realtor, and c. Phuoc Tran, Librarian. This was how the Vietnamese Heritage Summit 2013 came about. Please see the attachments for the letter & flyer for the more details.
Here's the things that we need your supports:
-Advertising & marketing the event (Please use the attached flyer) *I did send out to Saigon Nho & Nguoi-Viet MN newspapers
-Sign up for your child(ren), niece(s) or nephew(s), if applicable,
www.vcsamn.org-Be a staff or volunteer for the event. (please email me
hyvo...@yahoo.com if you're interested to help out with the event)
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you for reading the long email.
