9-3-25HI Rick,I am happy to approve ISA's co-publication agreement with Wiley and also approve the information transfer that goes with it. I will assist Wiley's fine team (Margaret Cummins, Lisa McClain and Rayan Couch), as they organize and direct the sale and distribution of ISA's books, including my two textbooks. This project is perfectly timed, because globally, the main markets for the textbooks such as mine, are the school and industrial libraries around the world and these libraries are just beginning to purchase the latest and best works for 2026. Also important is that ISA's 2025 Automation Summit & Expo in Florida, in October, will provide an excellent opportunity to inform not only the participants, but also the complete automation community - through the magazines such as InTech or newsletters like those of each ISA section around the world. Below, I will briefly describe the main features of my two reference textbooks:Controlling the Future (https://www.isa.org/standards-and-publications/isa-publications/isa-books/reviews/controlling-the-future-book-review)To my knowledge, this is the first and only reference textbook which describes the conversion of our energy economy from the present fossil fuel based one, to a future solar hydrogen based one, that will replace it during the coming decades. It describes each step we have to make on the "road" that will take us from the present unsustainable "OIL AGE" to the clean and inexhaustible "HYDROGEN AGE". This textbook gives particular emphasis to the role automation will play in this transition. While the text includes the conclusions of sophisticated mathematical modeling, I intentionally left out all complex equations and other material that could make the text hard to follow by the average student or other average reader.Instrument and Automation Engineers Handbook (IAEH)This 3 volume reference handbook of mine was first published in 1974 and since has became the handbook of the industrial automation profession. It's "Control Volume" (https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1355866297i/242237.jpg) is in it's 4th edition, while it's "Measurement" and "Analysis" volumes are in their 5th editions (https://www.amazon.com/Instrument-Automation-Engineers-Handbook-Measurement/dp/1466559322). They were published by Taylor and Frances jointly with ISA. I spent half a century on it's five editions and it was this service for which ISA honored me with their "Lifetime Achievement Award" (https://www.plantengineering.com/isa-to-honor-five-in-october/).Thanks Rick for initiating this co-publishing project and for taking advantage of Wiley's excellent experience and resources in promoting university textbooks to the libraries around the world.Best regards, BelaMargaret CumminsLisa McClainRayan CouchLiegh ElrodRich Zabel
