The  present  efforts to reduce warming by cutting emissions failed and global cooling is needed to get off this scuicidal path. Cooling can  be achieved through "whitening the human footprint", in other words by increasing the amount of heat reflected back into space. Today the planet is actually "darkening" because of the melting of the ice and snow. This can be quickly reversed and cooling increased if farmers lighten their crops and grazing grasses, city dwellers lighten their roofs, roads and parking lots.. My calculations indicate that increasing Earth's reflection by 1% (from 30% to 31%) could stop global warming by 2030.
