There is no functionality to determine which entry will win ahead of time. When you click the wheel, it accelerates for exactly one second, then it is set to a random rotation between 0 and 360 degrees, and finally it decelerates to a stop. The setting of a random rotation is not visible to the naked eye as it happens when the wheel is spinning quite fast.
The wheel event fires when the user rotates a wheel button on a pointing device (typically a mouse). It is also fired for related devices that simulate wheel actions, such as trackpads and mouse balls.
The wheel event is cancelable. If the event is canceled, no scrolling or zooming is performed. This may cause performance issues as the browser has to wait for every wheel event to be processed before actually scrolling the content. You can avoid this by setting passive: true when calling addEventListener(), which may cause the browser to generate non-cancelable wheel events.

The AHK looks like the most sensible solution, but my company prohibits me from downloading and installing the AHK code. The others either look too kludgy, and/or imply that they, too, need me to install something.
Me, I want to be able to reverse the zoom on everything else. To me, it's FAR more natural the way Creo does it. I mean, if you physically pull a book, or a map, or an object towards you (like the mouse wheel), it gets visually bigger, right?
