Hello All:
I am trying to install Solaris 8 on a Gateway ALR 7200 server. This is what
happens:
The system boots with the CD and then loads the following drivers: com.bef
cadp.bef
After all the selection screens, it just repeats this following lines in an
endless loop.

WARNING: /pci@0,0/pci1011,22@5/pci9005,f@9 (cadp1):
timeout: abort request, target=5 lun=0
WARNING: /pci@0,0/pci1011,22@5/pci9005,f@9/sd@5,0 (sd20)
SCSI transport failed: reason 'reset' : retrying command

Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Jacob Benjamin

I'm also a newbee on Solaris but I guess it looks like Solaris gets
trouble with your Hardwaredevices (pci). I guess the same problem on
installing freeBSD on a Intelmashine - thats the reason why I bought a
Sparc...

Check out the Hardware-support pages and your used Hardware. That should
solve the problem...

Cheers

Have you tried to download updated drivers from Sunsolve?
I had similar problem with a Compaq Proliant, a driver from Compaq
website solved the problem.
