thank you,

What about us CAL-NEVS?? I mean you guys are the cabinet and all we
hear is camp camp camp. What is your vision? Aren't you guys going to
contact or at least remember that we EXIST too. The Pastor that is in
charge of the Youth, he have to contact our President from the CAL-
NEVS and tell him What's Up!
Hey Khou, it really is nice to hear from you; one of the main
objectives for this google group is to promote communication.
As of now, we have just finished the applications and they will be
sent out, along with all other information that you may need. They
will also be posted on here, Friday after one final revision.
Due to limited funds and lack of participation, camp is really all
that we have that involves the greater mass of HUMY. (with an
exception of our revival in May. For more info see posted files). We
as officers place so much emphasis on camp because it is the only time
that we have together. If we were to do any other HUMY sponsed events
or activities, it would require commitment, not from us, but from
local youths. Again, lot of youths just do not have the resources
available to them.
As for vision, I think that what we are hoping to accomplish more of
in HUMY deals with commitment, not just to one another, but to Jesus
Christ. As a rising generation, we have the ability, the resources,
and the obligation to the Hmong United Methodist Church to change it
for the better. Many of us say we don't like the way some of our
churches are, well in all truth, that is the very reason we see what
we see, so that we as followers of Christ, may do what is right in the
eyes of God in the future.
In regards to contacting, it has been one of our greater challenges to
get into contact with states other then those in the midwest and North
Carolina (North Carolina simply because I am here). We have made
efforts in the past to reach California, requesting all the contacts
that are available for the local youths. To this day we have very very
limited contact information. It would be a great encouragement to me
and our cabinet if you or your officers could please aid us in
rounding up the information. Any contacts would are greatly welcomed.
If you have anymore questions please, post a another discussion, email
me or, if possible, personally give me a call. I really want to work
together for the well being of all our youths, and by calling me I
believe we can somewhat strategize on plans for that. That of course,
is for any one esle as well.
For his Glory,
Joseph Vang

He/she does make a very strong point. Honestly I can say, what their stating is TRUE! Out of all my 13 years of attending Camp Lucerne, I have only seen California attend 2-3 times. Come on, we have youth there, and they need OUR support as much as we need THEIR's. If we want to make this CAMP thing last, I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, advise everyone to participate. Share your experiences with your fellow youth members, friends, family and past members. Plus, if the CABINET can, it would be best to RESERVE the WHOLE CAMP, or at least the other side. The more space we have, the more we can accomodate. I'm just saying its been 13 years, and the HUMY CABINET IS STILL THE SAME. Atleast when I was in the cabinet, I remember most of us were trying to change this problem.
I am not GETTING' at any of yal'! Do not take any of this offensively guys, I am just stating the obvious. The obvious of sitting out our fellow California brother and sister's. Well til next time, I hope that none of this will change the way we think of each other. LateR's
