Afroz Alam Sahil, BeyondHeadlines

The nation-wide movement against corruption and black money seems to have woken up the common masses from their deep slumber. Corruption has deeply entrenched the Indian nation as evident in the recent scams of 2G Spectrum, Commonwealth Games and the Adarsh Housing Society.

This was the reason why people have been agitated enough to come out and participate along with the fasting of Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev. Common citizens joined the civil society’s movement against corruption. Such a wide scale mobilization reminds the JP movement of the late 1970s, which nonetheless later impacted the secular fabric of the nation by giving birth to a divisive and radical Hindutva movement. This must serve as a reminder whether the current movement has anything hidden to give birth at a later stage.

Some of the key actors who are involved in this movement have dubious pasts. Whether it is the Anna or especially the Baba, they cannot avoid the questions related to their team members and their real intention behind supporting the movement.  There is an urgent need to ask a few questions to understand their stand point and motives.

What is corruption for Mr. Anna Hazare? Is it just financial irregularities?..................................................................................................................................................

I want to ask few questions to the author of the article.

Have you agitated against the corruption ever in your life?? What I say why you do not publish such good profiles of the congress head Sonia Gandhi or the least write about the Mr. Sharad pawar. Do you know what are the numbers of zeros in the 1.5 lakhs crores????

What are the common person does when asked for a bribe by the corrupted officials? Why there is such a rise in the taxation by the government?

I say even if these three people are corrupted, then also they have the balls to question the government for the its incumbency against the fight against the corruption.

Please if you cannot do anything good against the corruption, kindly do not post mail which may try to demotivate the common man.

I say we all should participate in the Crusade or Jehad against the corruption in India.

I ask Mr Sahil should we accept the corruption as a way of life.
If not, what is his concrete plan to root it out, except criticizing the citizens who r trying to fight it.

What is Sahil's contribution to the society?.

If this movement if defeted now, there will be a day when the persons like Afroz may be complaining against corruption and other evils and no body will be there to help them.

1) We should accept that corruption is a reality which cannot be eradicated.

2) We should strive to be pure, devout and honest ourselves.

3) We should question everyone and everything.

4)  We should strive to be so perfect that every lower Truthseeker must learn from us. Similarly we should l;earn from more advanced/evolved Truthseekers.

Dear Mr.Roy,
Pl recollect your caveat some days back to all subscribers to refrain from using this platform for purposes other than RTI. This you issued in the context of exchanges taking place around Jan Lokpal Bill and more so you warned that anybody violating it shall lose his/her membership of this platform. Accordingly, myself and others stopped circulating our views on Jan Lokpal Bill and allied matters on this platform. But strangely enough, going by the contents of your mail mentioned below, you are found to be transgressing your own declaration. What should be done, Mr.Moderator ? Chitta Behera

Dear Chitta

I congratulate you for refraining from posting non-RTI related emails to this group. I sincerely hope that everyone is as disciplined as yourself and the others you mentioned.

Unfortunately, Mr C.J.Karira & some of our regular posters had requested the date to be extended by a month - to which the Moderators reluctantly agreed.

However, we have unsubscribed a few members who were going beyond all limits and engaging in partisan propaganda on this group.

I request you to be patient for a few weeks more, as we don't want to lose such valued members like yourself.

Warmly

As you know the original texts of our ancient scriptures are not available to anyone. Nor are there any authentic or universally acceptable copies. I am relying upon the versions used by Rammohun Roy (and later with modifications by Ramakrishna Paramhans, Swami Vivekananda etc) - these are quite different from the versions generally used by persons outside Bengal so I do not want to be in any controversy on this score.

You may refer to your own versions and extract what I have said.

Every honest citizens of India is affected by the section 4 Task Force and the collaboration of these NGO traitors to destroy RTI Act. In every fascist regime you will always find weak and corrupt (disposable) condoms which the ruling junta uses. The problem is the Citizens - who are like sheep / brainless chckens being led to the slaughter house and being distracted by the "in flight entertainment" (India Against Corruption and fake babas). en-route.

In that sense, it is good that we have people like Mr Sahil Afroz who go "beyond headlines" and ue their enemy's own weapon (s) against them.

Dear Mukund

Sorry for not replying earlier.

You can pick any of the Upanishads. For example the Chandogya Upanishad's 2nd chapter of Part 1, describes how both gods and devils are offspring of a common "father" and how "good" and "bad" always exist till the time of death. Although Indians (especially North / Aryan Indians) have been conditioned that gods="devas" and demons="asuras", In other Aryan Central Asian cultures "devas"=devils and "ahuras"="gods". So keep this in mind. In fact in mythical terms the Indo-Aryans were the "losers" who came (retreated) to India (via Africa BTW) after losing in Persia.

Another Khanda I find very useful in the Chandogya is Chapter III of Part 8.

Since you have repeatedly pressed me on this point, I shall openly state the bitter truth ---> that today's HINDUS only have copies (however corrupted and distorted they may be) because of the MUSLIMS (secular MUGHAL emperors) who PRESERVED Urdu / Persian versions of them in their libraries.

So you may use any version of what passes as the Chandogya (other sacred books) to get my points.

Dear Sarbajit Roy,
Please bear with me your below given explanations are out of context from your original reference to Shrimad Bhagwad Gita etc. It is one & only one comprising of 700 Shlokas. Whether you refer to commentary of all enriched souls like Ramakrishna Paramhans, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Chinmayananda Swami Ramdas, Ram Sukhdasji, Gandhji, Vinoba Bhave, Pandurang Shastri & many many more ultimate nectar is described is same by all. It is really inexplicable your interpretation any of 700 shlokas relating to your statements.

Dear Mukund

I'm glad we are having this discussion (although perhaps this is not the right forum)

I based my comments on both the Bhagvad Gita as well as the Upanishads (you seem to be focussing only on the Gita now having conceded that the Upanishads are suspect)

For example I had indicated a source in Upanishads where corruption (ie. bad, decay, foulness) etc as eternal as good, sweetness etc. Here is what the Gita says on evil (these are very well known phrases which need no commentary from any of those great names)

4.7  Whenever good declines and evil ascends I am born.

4.8  To eridicate evil I am born from age to age.

So it is clear that good and evil exist through the ages and occur in cosmic cycles. For every Christ there is also an anti-Christ . You are confused which one is good and which one is bad, because neither is pure (and both are the same) for without anti-matter the universes cannot exist and be reborn.

Deat Mukund

If you read my original post, I wrote
"What I am saying above is not my own VIEWS, but from the Bhagvad Gita and the Oopanishads,"

I did not say that I was quoting (literally) from either the Bhagvad Gita or the Upanishads.

If you require, I can certainly cull out various passages from these works to support the views I had mentioned. Various respected commentaries bear out my views.

If you disagree with any of my views (on the grounds that they are a) opposed to b) not supported by these works), I shall specifically endeavour to address your concerns.

PS: For those Indians on this mailing list who are so concerned with the Nehru-Gandhi family (and its womenfolk), the following verse may interest them

1:40 "adharmabhibhavat krishna
pradusyanti kula-striyah
strisu dustasu varsneya
jayate varna-sankarah
"

When righteousness is extinct in the family, O Krishna, the women of the family become degraded and from this comes unwanted progeny"

(NB: this verse must be read in conjunction with the preceding 1:39 with apparently glorifies "dynasties").
