Transportation leader/stakeholder:

Humboldt Transit Authority (HTA) is requesting your comments on a draft Humboldt County Transportation Services Guide.  The project timeline is very tight.  Please read below for more information.

The printed Humboldt County Transportation Service Guide includes comprehensive information for local fixed-route transit, regional transit, and human service transportation options.  This project is sponsored by the Redwood Community Action Agency Division of Natural Resources Services, with funding from the Caltrans Environmental Justice Grant program.  This guide will be distributed onboard transit vehicles and at other locations in the community.

As a stakeholder, your comments and review of the guide will help make it a better resource.  A draft of the Transportation Service Guide is now available.  We are able to accept and respond to comments through Saturday.  The guide will go to the press on Monday.  Please provide your comments directly to me at aa...@trilliumtransit.com.

Here are known issues with the guide:

  • I plan to add a page reference for fares next to timetables (for fares, see page…)
  • One page will need to be eliminated to incorporate a human service transportation map (or, more likely, we’ll add 4 more pages, giving the booklet a back cover, and bringing total page count to 28). This will provide space for Wheelchair/accessibility information for fixed-route transit
  • A Manilla service area map will be included.
  • Overview map doesn’t yet have reference page numbers
  • Maps won’t have the same blue header in final
  • Maps included are 2nd draft, not final. They are placeholder only.
  • RTS timetable pages may need to be re-arranged to follow AMRTS and ETS format.
  • I think the inter-city services don’t stand out enough where they are on page 2. Any suggestions for how to provide greater visibility for them?

Thank you,
Aaron
