Effective January 10th, Redwood Transit System will begin offering extended Saturday evening service. Each Saturday, one new northbound trip will depart from the Bayshore Mall at 7:10pm, with service through Eureka, Arcata, and McKinleyville. Another new southbound trip will leave from Bella Vista Avenue in McKinleyville at 6:20pm to complete service at the Bayshore Mall at 7pm.
"We are offering the new service in response to frequent rider requests for more evening and weekend service," says Greg Pratt, Operations Manager for Humboldt Transit Authority, which operates Redwood Transit Sytem.
New schedules will be posted onboard buses. Riders can pick up schedules at the HTA office at 133 V Street in Eureka. The updated schedule is online at
www.redwoodtransit.org, including downloadable schedules for iPods, PDAs, and mobile phones. Riders may also subscribe to an electronic list to be informed about future schedule and service updates.
