Good news! Redwood Transit System and Eureka Transit Service have both expanded their service.
Beginning Monday, July 14, RTS will offer 4 additional trips each weekday. Several existing trips have been extended and/or include changed stop times.
See Updated schedules here.
Since the beginning of the month, ETS has been running an additional route (Purple) on Saturdays. The Rainbow Route has been changed.
Note that if you use
Google Transit, the schedule changes have not taken effect there yet. A note on the RTS and ETS webpages notes this, and will be removed when Google Transit trip planner information is current.
As always, you can download the up-to-date schedules as text files for your iPod, PDA, mobile phone, or BrailleNote device at these sites. You can also
purchase passes online using your credit card.
It sure is great to see service expanded right when high gas prices mean people need transit most to get to jobs, healthcare, and education, and to do errands and social trips! RTS provides about one-half million trips a year for people, a number which is bound to be increasing. If you have comments on these schedule updates or the way information is displayed on transit websites for Humboldt, please post them to the
open customer-service board for Humboldt Transit. I'll be listening, and so will others.
Cheers,
Aaron
